paully Posted January 12, 2008 Share Posted January 12, 2008 My Dynaco came with some well used Tesla El34 tubes. I have bought many others since then and the only ones that compared were the JJ KT77. If I had the cash, and if I were still using my Dynaco (I may go back, that remains to be seen) old stock Tesla is definitely what I would purchase. Failing that the KT77 tubes seemed like an incredible value. I can't compare them to Mullard but I remember the Tesla being incredible. jcmusic Posted January 12, 2008 Share Posted January 12, 2008 I can not compare the Tesla's to anything, but I have heard Winged C's, Seimmens RFT's, and Mullard XF1's in my current amp and the Seimmens or RFT's were real smooth and kinda even sounding. The Mullards have alot more extension in the mids and high's, and the Winged C's were kinda bright. The Mullards are in my amp now, but I wouldn't hesitate to put the RFT's back in. Clipped and Shorn Posted January 13, 2008 Share Posted January 13, 2008 I have found the Tesla to be quite noisy. ...had to remove this gigantic coil out into the garage but even the neighbors are now complaining about the noise coming through their stereos.
