WowChuckE
I've got Heresy HDBR speakers, Serials 575060 and 575061. Been in closet for 25 years and thinking of selling but no idea what they are worth. Anybody help? Also, is there a site where you can see when a specific serial number was manufactured? Many thanks! SilverSport
H = Heresys...D = Decorator (should be no grills)...B = Birch (Baltic Birch plywood...very nice!)...R = Raw...(they originally had no stain and were "stained by owner" to match their decor...I suspect the second "5" in your serial numbers is in fact an "S"...I suspect this because I asked that very question several years ago when I got my "S" Heresys...1978 is the year...should be in the $250-$350 range dependiing on their condition and they will probably need crossover freshening...Bob Crites can help you with that...now you know! Budman
if you want to sell them please post your location and pictures. i'm interested in them IF they are true decorators.
WowChuckE
I'm on the fence about selling them but might. I'm in Apopka Florida, just outside Orlando.
Budman
they look very nice but they are not decorators. decorators don't have grills. are you sure it says HDBR
WowChuckE
The serial number label clearly does say HDBR though.....but I wouldn't know why if the D means Decorator and that means no grill because they had a grill when I bought them, and Silversport has dated them at 1978 which is right around when I bought them new. Marvel
Usually, the decorator models had a flat front, and not recessed to fit the grill. In a sense, all the Birch Raw models are decorators, because they owuld be finished by the buyer to suit their own finish preference. They are nice looking. Below is a list of prices from 1980 (each): Heresy H-BR Birch Raw with grill cloth 311.00 H-BB Birch Black with grill cloth 311.00 H-WO Walnut OIL 362.00 H-WL Walnut Laquer 362.00 RV1 Riser base for above models add $8.00 H-RL Rosewood Laquer 475.00 H-OL Oak Laquer 475.00 H-CL Cherry Laquer 475.00 H-TO Teak Oil 475.00 RV1 Riser base for custom finish add $15.00 H-BRL Brazillian Rosewood Laquer 569.00 Bruce
LoudnClear
Bruce - where's you get that price list. do you have it for other years and other models. If you do, I'd be so happy if you could post it all so I could save it off to my computer for reference! In particular Cornwalls would be the first thing I'd be most interested in. Thanks Kimball

LoudnClear
Thanks so much. Is been surprisingly exciting dreaming of choosing which models and finishes I'd choose at those prices. Any economists that can calculate the current day cost of cornwalls from 1974 and 1980 prices from inflation? We're probably paying alot more for new cornwalls today than they were back then, even with inflation adjustment. Oh for the days of all those beautiful finishes. I really like the current cherry finish though. Kimball
Marvel
The 1980 Cherry Lacquer Cornwalls at $813.00 would be about $2293 in 2007. Might show a bit higher now with he economy the way it is, but no conversions are available online yet.
Cindya
Hi, we have 2 klipsch speakers in our garage. Type HD-BR . One of the serial numbers is 42r160. Can anyone give me a ballpark idea of what they are worth and the year? Thank you!

In addition, do all 3 drivers work in both speakers?
Cindya
Ok, I’ll do that when I’m back in town in a few days. After hooking up the speakers, how will I know if all 3 drivers work? Assuming they do, any ballpark range of value you could estimate for me in the meantime? thank you.
