H = Heresys...D = Decorator (should be no grills)...B = Birch (Baltic Birch plywood...very nice!)...R = Raw...(they originally had no stain and were "stained by owner" to match their decor...I suspect the second "5" in your serial numbers is in fact an "S"...I suspect this because I asked that very question several years ago when I got my "S" Heresys...1978 is the year...should be in the $250-$350 range dependiing on their condition and they will probably need crossover freshening...Bob Crites can help you with that...now you know!

Usually, the decorator models had a flat front, and not recessed to fit the grill. In a sense, all the Birch Raw models are decorators, because they owuld be finished by the buyer to suit their own finish preference. They are nice looking. Below is a list of prices from 1980 (each):

Heresy
H-BR Birch Raw with grill cloth 311.00
H-BB Birch Black with grill cloth 311.00
H-WO Walnut OIL 362.00
H-WL Walnut Laquer 362.00
RV1 Riser base for above models add $8.00
H-RL Rosewood Laquer 475.00
H-OL Oak Laquer 475.00
H-CL Cherry Laquer 475.00
H-TO Teak Oil 475.00
RV1 Riser base for custom finish add $15.00
H-BRL Brazillian Rosewood Laquer 569.00

I thought I had an early '70s list, but I can't find it at the moment. I'll keep looking.

Thanks so much. Is been surprisingly exciting dreaming of choosing which models and finishes I'd choose at those prices.

Any economists that can calculate the current day cost of cornwalls from 1974 and 1980 prices from inflation?

We're probably paying alot more for new cornwalls today than they were back then, even with inflation adjustment.

Oh for the days of all those beautiful finishes. I really like the current cherry finish though.

Hi, we have 2 klipsch speakers in our garage.  Type HD-BR .  One of the serial numbers is 42r160. Can anyone give me a ballpark idea of what they are worth and the year?  Thank you!

Post some pictures of the cabinets as that has a great deal to do with their value.  In addition, do all 3 drivers work in both speakers?

Ok, I’ll do that when I’m back in town in a few days.  After hooking up the speakers, how will I know if all 3 drivers work?  Assuming they do, any ballpark range of value you could estimate for me in the meantime?

thank you.
