friend
I am new to this sound thing, so please help me out here. How would the sound output be if I have: - 2 channel sound card - Promedia (4.1 system) - Saving Private Ryan (Digital Theatre 5.1)
Moderators Amy Posted February 23, 2001 Moderators Share Posted February 23, 2001 Since you have the Promedias, it would sound excellent! One problem with a 2-channel card, however, is you cannot get true surround sound from it, just split stereo signals. You'll also loose some quality by having to use a y-adapter, and the newer 4 channel soundcards simply sound better (clearer). --Amy
Paragon
If you spend the money on teh Pros,, spend a little extra and get a 4-channel sound card. It would be well worth it. ------------------ 1GHz TBird Abit KT7A-RAID FOP38 & CuShim Kingmax 256MB PC150 Annihilator2 32MB GTS Intel Pro100+Management NIC Promise Ultra100 IBM 75GXP 45GB ATA100 & Maxtor DMP6800 27.2GB ATA66 Plextor 16X10X40A Sony 12X DVD SBLive! 5.1 AOpen HX08 Full Tower 300W Sony CPD-G400 19" Triny ACS295
