callmeishmael
Here it is Memorial Day and I am wondering what war movies will be on the tube, er I mean screen. I guess my most favorite war movie would be "Saving Private Ryan". It stuck with me for days afterward. "Tora, Tora, Tora"? "The Longest Day"? "Hambuger Hill"? oldbuckster
PATTON : George C. Scott was Patton ............. WE WERE SOLDIERS : Col. Hal Moore, what a man, what a leader ................. PLATOON : Pretty Close, but Hollywood .............. FULL METAL JACKET : A lifelike Basic Training Period ................... BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY : The Ron Kovac story, Tom Cruise's finest monent .......... Just realized all but one of those movies are Viet-Nam movies, Sorry about that ..... try these: THE PATROIT ............. Mel's second war movie of 3, I guess it would be fair to list BRAVEHEART as well, ... GODS AND GENERALS ............. A Southern point of view of the Civil War's early fighting .............. All these Movies are about Wars and the brutality of Battle, I hope someday we learn how stupid war is, and can learn to live in PEACE !!!!!!!!!!!!!
