kbrown1752
I am looking at subwoofers to go with my new 1978 Hearesys that my good buddy gave me when he upgraded to LaScalas. Right now I have an old 1st gen JVC prologic RX-550 but will upgrading that also.
Ricci
Let's cover a few things first that can help you make an informed opinion. 1.What's your budget for the SW 2. How big is your room 3. Will this be for HT, music or both? What's the split? 50/50, 40/60? 4. Listening tastes (low volume mostly, or do you really like to crank it every so often?) What kind of music do you listen to? 5. How much does size and appearance matter?
kbrown1752
Budget is under $500.00. Room is 25'x15'. 50/50 HT to Jams. I like to rock out 30%. I listen to everything but rap, mostly rock and classical. I am not a chick so size doesn't matter. I would also be looking at a center channel with a 6" height restricktion. russ69
I just bought a Shu research 10 inch , that works very nicely. They are a good value. Thanx, Russ
TNRabbit
SVS makes some very good budget subs; great value for $$$
silversport
very nice match when I used a Heresy Home Theater was the Hsu assisted Outlaw Audio LFM-1...I would predict the Klipsch SUB-12 would be a nice match as well...good luck... falcon20x
Welocme to the Forum. SVS and HSU are 2 good brands but don't disregard the SUB 12 from klipsch. It's a really good sub for the money
peshewah
Elemental Designs A3 300 with the upgraded driver is $500( or use to be). You can't go wrong with it. Made in the USA. Iowa as a matter of fact. Free shipping. If you call them you talk to a person who speaks very good English. Damn good company. Happy hunting. Groomlakearea51
...... don't disregard the SUB 12 from klipsch. It's a really good sub for the money Well within your budget. they can be found for about $300, and keep their value fairly well if you decide to upgrade later on to the RSW type, JBL's, etc.
