CP-1 -- Yeehaw!

Hi all,

I'm new to the board, but I thought I'd post a little something. I've had my ProMedias for a bit over 2 years now. After PC Gamer's glowing review, who could not buy them? Wink.gif

Anyway, I just recently invested the $50 into the CP-1 pod, and WOW! NO STATIC when moving the nob! NO HISSING even when volume levels are higher than normal! I always just figured those were things I'd have to put up with to get this unmatched sound, but not anymore!

For those techie people out there, anyone have a good explanation as to what the new pod does or what exactly was wrong with the old one? Even aside from the hissing/static things, the sound just seems richer with the new pod. Just curious about that.

Talk to you all later!

the new one has an improved knob, headphone output, line input, standbye/headphone mode switch, some say improved midrange, i say placebo effect Smile.gif

the old control pod had a problem with the pantenometer (spelling is off) and the new one fixed it by allowing better connection and stiffer knobs. more flexible though. that is just what i have read around the boards.

Well Frog, Justin is right... the only problem with his statement is the fact that there is only one dealer in Canada authorized to sell Klipsch parts. If that has changed in the last month it is news to me. I am a Canadian as well, and had to order from Thorne Electronics AKA Micron something or other... the name you need to know is George Thorne. Search this forum for Thorne and you will find their phone number. They will instruct you to fax/e-mail them an order with your credit card info and your signature or some type of authorization. The total in canadian funds is around $100 including shipping and taxes... well worth it if you ask me!

So good luck, and if you have any more questions be sure to post them.

Well Amy posted that you can get ProMedias at Thorne Electronics and Audio Thunder (the others i got from other Canadian ProMedia owners). Good dealers will special order things for you, I hope one of these, if closer, will do just that Smile.gif
