4. Lying Eyes – The Eagles

5. Castles in the Air – Don McLean

6. Don’t Worry Baby – Brian Wilson/Beach Boys

10. In Dreams – Roy Orbison

This is my wife's list. She's 17 years younger than me so I guess she has a slightly more progressive outlook - but still relatively conservative, I guess...

3. Love Today, My interpretation, Grace Kelly, Your Sympathy – Mika, everything by Mika

4. Bohemian Rhapsody, You’re My Best Friend, Killer Queen - Queen

6. No One is to Blame - Howard Jones

7. Tropicalia - Beck

8. I Want You - Savage Garden

9. Lightning Crashes - Live

Impossible to name top 10. So here's 10 that come to mind today that I always like hearing.... or have special meaning ... in no particular order

  1. Flowers Are Red - Harry Chapin
  2. Saturday In The Park - Chicago (probably not my absolute favourite Chicago but was for a while in my youth.... )
  3. Turning Thirty - Randy Stonehill
  4. What A Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong
  5. Doubly Good To You - Amy Grant
  6. Convertibles - White Heart
  7. Free Ride - Edgar Winter Band (hard to pass on Frankenstein but have always loved the Free Ride guitar riff)
  8. Flight Of The Cosmic Hippo - Bela Fleck & The Flecktones
  9. Sister Rosa - The Neville Brothers
  10. Merry Christmas Baby - Bonnie Raitt & Chales Brown ( or maybe Santa Clause Is Comin' To Town by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band)

As I thought, way too difficult to come up with a top ten so consider this a random list of 10 favorites right this minute 2008-10-16 15:30 EDT

I will need to think more to narrow down a top 10, but I really like Human Wheels from Mellencamp as well. Some of his best writing in that song I feel. Good choice Amy.

It would have been easier to list 50. I have too many favorites by the Beatles, SRV, Dire Straits and Neil Young so had to leave them off completely.

Soulshine (Allman Brothers)
Come On In My Kitchen (Robert Johnson)
Joker (Steve Miller Band)
Knockin' On Heaven's Door (Bob Dylan)
Drift Away (Dobie Gray)
Stormy Monday (T-Bone Walker
Stand By Me (Ben E. King)
Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd)
Cocaine (Eric Clapton)
Angie (Rolling Stones)
