  1. Hi, I got my speakers and built my current theater room when Atmos and DTS:X were spanking new, still made out well at 17x24”, but only 8ft ceiling. I'm about to relocate and build another room. With 904 mains, 2 884 subs and 8060 surrounds, 4 12” ceiling speakers, what would an ideal size be?
  2. I've been in sonic heaven ever since the last post. Forgot to post that right after Xmas I sold the last of my three amps and bought the 11ch Yamaha amp, it's been smooth/clear sailing ever since!
  3. Sold the 5ch amp in a local Craigslist sale. Down to just to the 2 channel amp which has no issues!
  4. Indeed it did, and it led and an interesting revelation. Seems the 2 channel amp I have could be collectible! The back clearly says "5/1500A", and there are blanks for 3 more channels in between the two. Looking online the 5/1500A is indeed supposed to be a 5ch amp! So what I have is some kind of manufacturer screw up, or a prototype or something.
  5. Up for sale is my trusty old Pioneer 1120. It comes with the original remote, manual box, calibration mic AND the Bluetooth module which was sold separately for around $80 if I recall. The unit is in excellent condition, I mostly used it as a preamp. 7.1 AV Receiver 120 Watts per Channel Works with iPhone 6 HDMI Inputs Bluetooth Front-Panel GUI Sirius Satellite Ready Advanced Surround Sound 3D-Compatible MCACC Asking $250 shipped in the US. Will ship in the original box. Any questions feel free to ask.
  6. What issues would I have? None that I'm aware of. One thing that's cool is I can turn off the other amps and just listen to what the Atmos speakers are doing. When playing the scene back with all speakers engaged the effect blends nicely.
  7. My .02, I use the 8060's as side and rear surrounds and regular Reference CDT-3800ii in ceiling speakers for Atmos and it sounds pretty phenomenal. My room is 17ft wide, yours being 14ft the slightly smaller 8000's might be the better choice.
  8. Oh, the speakers are raised so that their within the screen, so the frame wouldn't obstruct in any way.
  9. dremel, then sand then black paint and boom! Perfect amp after that. Only thing that sucks about inukes is the looks. Well fans aren't great either but easily replaced Hehe, maybe I'll get to that point. I'm more considering doing a mod to add a trigger for it. Some guy on AVS supposedly has a way to wire it without the "shutdown thunk". I got a power strip where the preamp is plugged into the master outlet, and the iNuke is plugged into a slave outlet. Works to turn it on and off, but I get a rather loud shutdown thunk.
  10. I was not aware of the current sale, figures lol. Still, I'm in no dire rush, and it's an even better price if you buy em all!
