  1. I wouldn't pay top dollar for speakers that had them corner protectors screwed into them unless they came from the factory that way.
  2. I'm in Wichita and search surrounding areas all the time and I'm actually interested in picking up a set of NICE heritage speakers. You're trying to flip a pawn shop product that's already priced out of it's league.
  3. Looks like they're in Decatur, AR if anybodies interested... http://tulsa.craigslist.org/ele/4695383507.html
  4. I'm running Quintet's mounted up high and wide aimed at my listening position. All the rest of my speakers are Reference series. Not sure if your receiver can do front and rears but if your gonna do fronts you might as well do rears.
  5. When I was making good money as a contractor I fell for the whole bi-wire business and bought some expensive premade Monster bi-wires for my 3 front speakers. One of the biggest wastes of money I've ever spent on my system. No benefit whatsoever.
  6. nice not too far from me! Hey I'll tell you what if you wanna get rid of that rt-12d let me know. I may be interested even if broken. There's a Klipsch dealer with a repair center here in Wichita. I took my RT-12D into them once already and they said nothing was wrong with it. I brought it home and it worked for a couple days then quit working again. I'm not sure what's up with it. It cost me $50 just to have them look at it so I plan on taking it back and taking advantage of getting my moneys worth. I have 90 days to do this in. After I get it fixed I might consider selling it and going with another SVS for my 2 channel setup. I'll let you know once I get it back. It's a great sub when it's working. I wanted to go duals and finding another RT-12D I figured would be slim to none so I went with SVS. I did find another member here on the boards that has a pair of mint condition RB-81's and plan on purchasing to use for rears. I think for the way my living room is laid out I'd be better off with a direct radiating speaker. Not that it's going to make a big difference just something I've been pondering about for a long time now. I had my RC-64 mounted on a angled shelf above the window behind my tv for a few years but it was so high up it wasn't a good fit so I placed it back to it's old spot below the tv. It is angled up with the auralex. I just hate to raise the tv up more then where it's at cause it's nice to have the view out of the front window. I would like buy a house in the future with a dedicated theater room. Thanks for the replies everybody.
  7. What's FH speakers? I got the Z11 as a open box deal when they were closing them out at Ultimate Electronics. I love it. I was using one RT-12D for my sub up front but it died on me. I need to take it in for repair. I liked the option of going duals better anyways.
  8. The feet on the base of the tv is wider then the RC-64. I agree the center needs to come up. I did buy a set of the Auralex Mopad XL and used the filler piece to angle the speaker up some. There wasn't enough room on the bottom shelf to angle it up using both Auralex pieces though. Can anybody recommend me a nice tv stand that can accommodate the 64? I might hold off on the 81's. I do have a pair of RF-82's I was using in a different room for two channel listening I could move them and use for rears. I was just concerned about them not being high enough off the ground because of the back of the couch. Thanks for the replies.
  9. Thanks. That's what I was thinking but wasn't quit sure. I am running a THX certified receiver, the RX-Z11. I'm on the hunt for a pair of black RB-81's then. I just got my SVS's a week ago and already cracked my drywall while watching Pacific Rim. Btw I noticed your from KC. I'm down in the Wichita area. Here's a quick pic of my setup. I'm rewiring all my stuff at the moment so it's a lil messy.
  10. In more of a open floor plan would a direct radiating speaker be better then a dibole for rear surrounds? I'm already using a pair of RS-62's for rears but thinking of going with RB-81's. Think it would be worth the change? My current setup is a pair of RF-83's for fronts, RC-64 for center, 4 RS-62's for surrounds and rears, 4 Quintets for front and rear presence and dual SVS PB13 Ultras for subs.
  11. I talked to the guy that sold me the reciever and he says they are just talking about the on screen display (setup menu to adjust your settings) which is only used for one purpose anyways......so no biggie...
  12. I recently purchased the 3806 a little over a month ago. It's an awesome receiver no problems at all. I just read this on the Denon website about how the 2807 won best something or other at CES and they stated this... "So why all the excitement over the AVR-2807? Consider Denon's $1,300 AVR-3806. It's a great receiver, but the somewhat half-baked HDMI capabilities--analog video sources and the onscreen display are limited to 480i resolution via the HDMI output--limits usefulness on many HDTVs and monitors." What do they exactly mean by this? I recently just purchased the Sony 60 inch SXRD also. Reading what was on the Denon website has got me wondering if I should of went with the 2807 instead of the 3806. I bought it at Ultimate Electronics and it's been 37 days so they might not let me exchange it. What I'm wondering is what exactaly is the difference between these two receivers? Is the cheaper 2807 better than the more exspencive 3806? Any help is greatly appreciated...
  13. I'm a CNC Machinist at a local shop here right outside of the Air Capitol (Wichita, Kansas). I work full time and I go to school part time at a local community college. Gettin ready to graduate next semester with an AAS then we'll go from there... Dominic
  14. I just picked up the new Wu-Tang Clan DVD Disciples Of The 36 Chambers: Chapter 2 last night and the quality of audio and video is excellent.......highly recommended...
