  1. Knoxville, 9hrs from Grand Rapids...it’s a hike.
  2. I like immaculate myself; these have been used but lovingly cared for - the wrinkle doesn’t look as extreme in person, the shows aren’t helping that photo, but they are there - just saying. They worked well with my set-up, the Theater Grand made them shine. I am not sure when I would be up to Grand Rapids, but I can expect before the end of the year. Port Huron is other side of state though, no?
  3. Folks, I have a few unique items to sell; if you want the back story, I can give it to you, but in the interest of brevity - I have two pieces of etched glass and two aluminum ovals, etched with old school Klipsch logos. These are one offs; I made them myself - the glass in an etching booth and the aluminum with a secret chemical process. My intention was to take the glass, make a stand lined with LEDS and place them on my pair of La Scalas, or figure out a way to hang them with LEDS in the top and bottom of a frame. The effect would be outstanding; as you can see in the pictures with a mere flashlight pointed into them. The aluminum was really just an experiment, one of the ovals is sanded, hence why the black in the logo looks rough, but the etch is deep-ish, so that a nice automotive paint could be dripped into the etch to make a lovely effect. The glass is perfect, so discernible scratches - the aluminum, well it is aluminum - scratches and such but the logos are deep and unharmed. At any rate, they have been sitting, for years, in a drawer - and as I no longer have the La Scalas, and no longer have my dedicated home theater, I figured the crafty people here could put them to better use. The glass is 12 inches wide, quarter inch thick and the etch is deep, the ovals are 16 x 8 x 1/8th, so rather large. I wanted the ovals to be a kind of tasteful booth logo sign or something to announce a gathering of Klipsch heads at the Holiday Inn breakfast nook in Hope as we had so many years ago - but alas, life has intervened. So, here they are - and I reiterate, they are one offs - I do not intend to make any more even if I could - the patterns, files and logos long ago have vanished - but I enjoyed making them, and would love to see them finished. I have no idea what they are worth, but as you can’t buy anything like this, I am thinking $75 each ($150 for *both*) for the glass, and say $25 for the aluminum? This is of course OBO, and you would pay for me to box the crap it of them to ship (shouldn’t be that much CONUS). I would prefer load all pick-up, of course, near Knoxville, TN. Still wasn’t brief, sorry. Questions, send me a messsage, and thanks for taking the time. Bruce
  4. Cones are in decent shape; one has a slight ripple that I only noticed this morning. Didn’t affect sound, I will post a pic. Thanks for speedy response; where in Michigan? I make a tasty beverage run to Grand Rapids often enough to be embarrassed by it...
  5. Greetings folks, I still have a pair of RS-7 speakers; due to my own lack of diligence, I didn’t stay on top of the last offer to purchase these, and the deal fell through. I never relisted and here they sit. They were never wall mounted, and are in good shape. There are some scuffs and a corner dented a bit, but the screens are perfect, and they work well. I also have the original boxes they came in, though I will need to reinforce them, as the original packing was lacking. I can send detailed photos if you are interested. I am asking $400 for the pair, would prefer pickup at or around Knoxville, Tennessee...but I probably would be willing to drive a piece to see them handed off to a fellow enthusiast. Please let me know if you have questions and thanks for looking. Bruce
  6. Richard, Good to hear from you, I will tell the wife...you do the same with yours, please! Thanks!
  7. Last photo won’t load, too big...email me for picture of the 2006 tube!
  8. Y’all know what this is...one of the limited edition posters, purchased in 2006. Has never been unrolled farther than to take the pictures you see here, and a picture just to show you that this is fact, the original uncrushed tube. Thanks for your consideration. B
  9. Wires? As in RCA input wires, unlikely. Has happened with multiple sets of inputs, Blue Jeans low imped right and left 1 meter wires, which have always worked for me. Could wires cause high output roll-off? Ah, now the input jacks themselves....yes, might be the culprit, but how would I test them? What would I be looking for, and where is that pesky grounding bracelet to keep me from being shocked to $#&@? Last time I opened an amp, a broken tube octal took me off my feet; I imagine I looked like a startled Rick Moranis (dating myself).
  10. Good morning. I haven’t switched speaker wires, I will try that; guess that should have been my first order of business. Have them torn apart right now, went ahead and upgraded other crossover while apart. Now they match, but might have opened another can of worms. You are correct; I am running these H1’s with the HK 730 twin; has worked spectacularly till I decided to hook a Bluetooth receiver to the little-used “input 2” RCA jacks. When the right channel appeared to suddenly lose high end, I assumed tweeter crapped out. It sounded like it was working, but things such as a high-hat rythm lost its “crispness”, so I assumed diaphragm. My old voltmeter was wigging out, so I couldn’t measure resistance across terminals to test my theory, so I just went ahead and ordered new diaphragms from Mr. Crites. However, found even older voltmeter that does appear to work, tested both tweets, got 6.2 ohms from both...so *now* I am not so sure I was right about this being the problem. I had this amp gone through and adjusted some years ago by our local amp genius, Terry DeWick, but he isn’t doing non-Mac equipment any more AND apparently has a 90 day backlog! I sent a pleading email, but even though I only live a couple miles from him, I am not hopeful. So given all that...any thoughts?
  11. Thank you for your correction. I am aware there is no SUB in most Klipsch speakers; but I misspoke. Knowing the impedance might be important if I am trying to determine whether a diaphragm is going bad, which was my first thought - now given the numbers which you just kindly revealed, I am not so sure. I believe that I might now need to test my amplifier as I have had high-end drop off in one tweeter, and I can’t track down why. Thank you for your response, I can see that the level of courteous communication has at least been maintained in my absence. B
  12. Greetings, Can someone tell me what the resistance measures are across the speakers terminals for a Heresy I, K77M tweeter? I ordered new diaphragms from BC, but I tested the tweeters resistance and they both came in the same, about 6.2 ohm...is this right? Anyone know what the squawker and WOOFER should be measured across their terminals? Thanks! B
