  1. They are simply amazing, was originally powering them with a Kenwood Basic M2a, which drove them fairly well. Picked up a Hafler Dh-500 and they came to life. Was just looking at Jorjen's Jubs and am thinking of building a set of Rosewood Jubs, I have everything but the MDF. I think I need a bigger house.... LOL This really is a sickness[]
  2. Beautifully done, The veneer on those is absolutely stunning, can't wait to see what they look like once you get the grills on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been sitting on enough spare parts to build a set. After seeing these I can already hear the table saw buzzing. What type of crossover are you going to use????
  3. Simply BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!! , I did see one time a rosewood Belle that had that same caption on the ID tag, Sure hope they sound as amazing as they look.
  4. I haven't been on in a while and to tune in to this is scary. I hope and pray that the optimism expressed by the employees is a sign that Klipsch will be able to run as a stand alone company. Leaving no doubt that the passion and morals of a man who started the company in a tin shed would continue to show in the products that bare his name.
  5. Do you anticipate putting the Koustical lens on these to make them look like a Hartsfield or are you done with these? I myself don't see why anyone would do this to a pair of Jubilee even if they are only clones. I see that you are interested in selling them, what market do these fit in? It would be like going to a car dealership and looking at a Cadilota. It has the ride of a Cadillac and the drive train from a Toyota Prius. Gas milage is great, going downhill, every now and again, depending on how steep the hill is you must get out and push. Going down the other side is a cinch, the motor doesn't create enough vacuum to operate the power breaks, 120+mpg. For what its worth you have wonderful wood working skills, I'm trying to get an idea of why you would do this???
  6. Just finished up the veneer, am too tired to continue. Unfortunately I have to work all weekend and won't be able to do anything with them until Monday. Plus I am going to order a few things from Parts Express tomorrow and will button them up next week. I haven't had to chance to crank them up since I treated the insides of the cabinets. Thought I'd share a few pictures of these beauties with you guys...... and gals
  7. , figured out another method. Anyhow back on track and have placed another six pieces of veneer, what a time consuming labor intense job this has turned out to be. I have however learned a few things and that this is not for the faint at heart. Here is a picture of the progress on the first cabinet. I'll have to pick up some more contact cement this evening to move ahead any further. I am hoping that if I concentrate on this I should have the both of them done by tomorrow evening.
  8. Well thought that I had it all figured out???? Started to lay some veneer on my slow, forward moving Cornscala project and found that my chosen method of cutting veneer wasn't going to cut it(pun intended). The first cut went rather well, but the second wasn't nearly as perfect. I had a few small protrusions off of my other than square piece. At this stage should I try to either sand it or cut it again. I really don't want to cut it again since there is an attractive blonde streak through that edge that I don't want to waste. The way it looks by bookmatching the veneer I'll end up with three blonde stripes from front to rear that will extend down the sides from the top. I'm using contact cement and have already learned how unforgiving it can be, I believe I'll try the iron glue on the next cabinet.

  10. Very nice read, and I agree that he was an engineering genius to have developed such a speaker with the tools available to him at that time...
  11. Looks like that matching pair of Jubs is closer than ever, I recently won 4 k-31s on ebay!!!!!! Can't wait to see those show up on my doorstep [8-|]
  12. I think you may have answered your own question, most likely not the horn but the driver.....
  13. Finally got a break in the action today, the little man took a 3 hour nap this afternoon. So that freed up some time and I've got one of the Cornscalas ready for veneer. The rosewood veneer is looking rather nice, and if I have it figured right there will be enough left to finish a set of Jubilees. Sure would be nice to have a matching set of those, [6] Now how to finish the veneer??? BLO them, laquer or a satin polyurethane??? Decisions, decisions..............
