  1. Wow, I'm glad to hear it was a deal then! I knew I wasn't paying too much, but I didn't realize just how good it was. My new home theater is in the works. My wife and I bought a single family home with a basement that's half finished, half unfinished. It's the unfinished side that needs work before I can really put this equipment to use. Talk about pure motivation!
  2. It's the black finish, and only a couple of small dings on the edges. I paid $350 - do you think this is in the ballpark for a good deal? Aside from the minor dings, it's in excellent shape and really contributes well to the CF-4's I just brought home. Rather, this thing is borderline ridiculous and, combined with those CF-4's, will bring the house down if I don't watch it! Amazing! Here's a question - the pre-amp signal input allows for both L and R. My receiver has a single output. Should I split that single output into both L and R, or just pick one and go with it? Should have no bearing, right? Thanks! EDIT: moderators, if you want to drop this in the Subwoofers section, that might be more appropriate (just noticed it.. sorry).
  3. Right, I see that - I'm just wondering what originally prompted Klipsch to come out with this series at all. Because it was military only, does this suggest they weren't available to the general public? Were they more expensive than their counterparts? Less expensive? What domestic line are they equivalent to? I'm just trying to fig out if this mint KM-C I have I'd a rare bird or is it just another avg center channel. Thanks!
  4. Can somebody explain why the KM series ever existed? I see they were primarily for the military, but I'm not quite sure why and what it was that set them apart from the rest. I ask because I came across a mint KM-C and want to sell it in hopes I may come across a KV-4 someday. But I have absolutely no idea what it might be worth and what special applications it may have been made for. Thanks!
  5. Hi all - I've been subscribed to the forum for some time, but a newb when it comes to posts. This may have already been noted and explained elsewhere, but is there a particular reason why the "views" column doesn't update when browsing the lists of posts per forum? Thanks!
  6. Hi All, I'm running into a situation that has me scratching my head a bit - just wondering if others might be able to steer me in the right direction. I have an older SWV powered sub that I'm trying to tie into my Denon AVR-988. The Denon has a single RCA type output (mono I would presume), but the back of the sub has a plethora of inputs and I'm not quite sure the route to go. There are L & R rca type inputs (I would have thought this to be a low-level voltage input directly from the pre-out of any driving receiver). And there are also L & R rca type outputs. Additionally, there are also speaker ins (from the receiver) and speaker outs (to the speakers themselves in what I would assume to be a standard 2-ch setup. I ran the pre-out from the Denon to the L rca in - no sound. Then ran it to the R rca in - no sound. I considered placing a tee and splitting the single pre-out into both L & R, but I don't think that's going to improve my situation. Am I not seeing something here? Is the technology too old to take advantage of here? I'd like to make use (to some extent) of the receiver's control over the sub pre-out...so if the only way to power up this sub is to run in main speaker lines, then I'm bowing out of this one. To help illustrate what the back of this sub looks like, I found this guy's craigslist posting of the same sub (I'm 'borrowing' one of his pics): http://images.craigslist.org/1f21251463ma3pe3o68c1727bf58212d717f1.jpg Thanks!! -C
