Thanks for the positive comments. I didn't mention how good they sound but these newer version Forte's are really, really good. I've tried to price them fairly so they can find a good home.

$2500 for the pair. Pickup in Texarkana,TX. Have all original boxes and packing material but not offering shipping. Come to Hope, tour the museum, make the 30 minute drive to Texarkana and take home some excellent speakers. Speakers are consecutive serial numbers and are as close to being new as I can imagine. No chips, dings, grill flaws or any other damage. One picture appears smudged but that is on the camera. They are as new. Guessing they have 75-100 hours of use. Driven by a little Yamaha CR420. I purchased these in late March at the KMAH auction in Hope. I purchased these and a set of walnut RP5000F. I figured my wife would want the smaller 5000's in the house. I used them for about a week and enjoyed them but then moved the Forte's in. Didn't take long to agree that the Forte's sounded much better and she really liked the combination of the distressed wood and light colored grills. Things were great and then a new piece of furniture was purchased. The forte's fit but with only an inch between speakers and walls as well as the new cabinet. I ended up purchasing some "pretty" speakers that are only 9" wide and better fit our space. Still have k'horns in my shop so I hope that keeps me a member in good standing on the forum. As stated, these are in "as new" condition. The boxes were opened at the auction, Roy and I packed them up after the auction. They were unpacked and put in place at my house and then moved into a bedroom last week. I didn't try to take detailed pictures simply because I didn't want to move them. Seems like any time I have damaged a speaker is when they are being moved so I've limited doing that. Offering them here first before trying other outlets. These really are great sounding speakers and a good buy.

A friend is trying to get his vintage system going. The heart will be a Pioneer SX780 that he bought in high school. He was wanting someone to go through it and replace any faulty switches, caps, etc. Anyone here used someone they fcound recommend? He is in Monrovia and would like to keep it as close as possible. Just wanting to find someone who is reputable.

Thanks. I had a feeling it was possible and hopeful that it won't take too much work. I have a Fisher x202b currently being restored but that tech is not really interested in working on this console pull. In looking at the 2 amps this one looks like it would be much easier to work on. Any recommendations from the group for a good tech in the Dallas, Houston, Little Rock areas to perform said work?

This weekend I purchased a Magnavox console radio/ turntable that has a 9304 tube amp. It was purchased 75% for looks and 25% because I remembered reading that the Magnavox tube amps were desirable. I would like to use the tuner/preamp and amp but remove the current record changer and use a different turntable and speakers. Could this be a possiblity? This console has the on/off switch in the treble knob as well as a bass control knob, volume knob, selector switch and tuning knob for the radio. There is a sort of "umbilical" cord connecting the tuner/preamp to the amp. Physically there is enough room to move the tuner/preamp to provide enough room to set a new turntable inside the cabinet. I know the amp will need to be gone through and updated with new caps, etc. Would the preamp/tuner need the same type work? I am hoping that new rca jack's could be installed as the current ones are too close together to use current production cables as well as the addition of new binding posts for speaker connections. I read somewhere stating that the signal from the original ceramic cartridge was so different from a current cartridge that the amp would be incompatible with a current turntable and cartridge. I hope this rambling makes some sense. Thanks for any advice.

TTT. No love for these Chorus II? The cabinets aren't THAT bad, I'm just conservative in my grading. Would rather have someone pleasantly surprised rather than disappointed. I wouldn't think it would be too expensive to veneer in the finish of your choice.

If they can be merged that would be great.

Since there wasn't much interest in these earlier, I have decided to sweeten the pot. Now you can purchase these Chorus II's and I'll throw in a Marantz 2238B receiver for $900. Now before you get too excited, the Marantz has some problems. It does not sound good. The bass is distorted and the volume seems weak. The tuner appears to work fine and I played a cd through the auxilliary input. That is when I really noticed the poor sound quality. Cosmetically it is pretty nice but there is a dial light out, a crack in the tuning meter glass (not the dial glass) and a knob has been replaced with a black replacement. The Marantz is not for sale separately from the speakers, package deal only. I want to move the speakers to a new home. Cash and carry in Texarkana. Pair of black Chorus II speakers in good but not perfect condition. Functionally they are fine. All drivers work as they should. Had an amp fail a few years ago and it took out one of the woofers. Purchased a NOS woofer, put it in and didn't worry about it again. In the pictures you can see the woofers are 2 different colors. I think the original one is the lighter gray. When the grills are on I can't tell a difference. While I was replacing the woofer, I sent the crossovers to Crites for a rebuild. The only other thing not original is the binding posts on one speakers have been replaced. When I was moving these for pictures I failed to disconnect the wires, put the speaker on a dolly, turned and snapped it off. Contacted Crites about a replacement and he did not have any. Said he used a Parts Express unit but it had to be cut down a bit so that is what I did. The cabinets are black (obviously) and I would rate them about 6.5/10. There is some flaking and scrapes and scratches in the finish. The only real damage to the cabinet is a gouge on one of the edges toward the back. About the width of a nickel. Grills are fine with no holes or snags. Badges are in good shape. I have owned these speakers for about 10 years and they have been fun. Powered by a class A Threshold but never driven hard. Price is $900 firm, cash, at pick up in Texarkana. Tx. 75503.

This makes me sad. At a pilgrimage 2 or 3 years ago Kirby, a fellow named Pat and myself were early risers on Saturday morning. The three of us sat at a table and talked for a good 30 minutes before anyone else was up a stirring about. He was a very nice fellow. RIP.

My son has a Yoder pellet grill, yodersmokers.com. I don't know the model but he likes it and he does produce some outstanding food. He had a Traeger and sold it to buy the Yoder because of the temperature fluctuations. It is an automatic feed. Set the temperature and in about 30 minutes it is up to temp and stable. Don't know about bluetooth. Can be used with direct or indirect heat although I don't know that he uses direct heat very often. They're not inexpensive but are heavy and appear well made.

More pics. They are mated with a little 12 watt elekit amp that he built a couple of years ago. Should make a nice match.
