  1. Seems like common issue with quintet, it cannot remain steady at one place. I just installed them upside down i.e woofer on top and after maximum droop tweeter settles at angle so it is facing our seating area, this way i don't have to really tighten screws nor sand or add additional brackets. My question: can this effect speakers? should i be worrying about any mechanical issues? PS: what a beautiful sound
  2. Hello guys. I am loving my 1st klipsch quintet speakers, wonderful detailed sound. My question is about Sub 350 and 450 and latest models of Klipsch. As far i have seen some subwoofers they have 4 speakers terminals 1 pair of IN and 1 pair of OUT to connect stereo receiver. Sub 350 and 450 only have IN no Out and some subs don't have that option at all. I ask this because for sometime i want to use Klipsch Quintets with my sony minihifi but cannot figure how to.
  3. Thanks for being very helpful as always. I chose Quintets as alternate to HD500 which was my only choice some months back because of space concerns and budget. But when i heard local dealer has Quintet in stock i jumped and ordered these. I don't see myself upgrading sound equipment anytime soon in few years or probably next 10 years if nothing fails. I have heard Quintet II and i totally prefered sound of quintets over Jamos (i have ordered latest quintet series) Subwoofer: Well sw-350 costs around 350$ and sw-450 costs 420$. If 450 is significantly good then i can spend on it the budget i have kept for wiring, and settle with cheap but reasonable wires. Though i enjoy quality sound but i have other main hobby/passion which also require $$$, so i wont call myself frequent upgrader of sound systems. I live in Pakistan, i appreciate all recommendations but unfortunately i cannot buy online or have many options like you guys and dealers seems to have monoply over prices. I will also check 709. Best regards
  4. I am going to order quintet tomorrow. do you think sw-350 will be enough for 15x12 room? i don't need whole neighbourhood to shake, i just need clear beautiful sound with reasonable bass without distortion. And i am thinking about Onkyo 609, do you think it is good choice? and won't burn quintet (50watts)? or should i look for less powerfull 509 Best
  5. Okay sorry for this but i miss understood option 2 You recommend get 2 pairs of bookshelf speakers and use bookshelf as centre. will that give matched sound with fronts ?i heard if not using appropriate centre it can cause uneven sound.
  6. Thanks guys for the help. I went to only shop which carries some hometheater setups in my city, auditioned Quintet II and Jamo E660, though i was expecting better performance from Jamo as they were towers + bookshelf but Quintet was much more clearer to my ears (this is 1st time i heard Klipsch or Jamo) does that mean i am Klipsch guy? (i heard some people saying you love or hate horns). I also think Quintet II were awesome for my taste, they crossed my expectations but they cost same as pair of C10+b20 without sub here. I hope bigger klipsch will be even better, i cannot audition anything before buying pooling finances
  7. Yes using sony as rear channels is my plan till i am able to retire them and get better. 1: 600-700 USD for Speakers 2: Receiver has separate budget 3: room size 10x16 feet 4: I have separate house, but houses are very close just like in our part of world walls are shared with neighbours 5: i am dropping sub because of budget so small budget bookshelves + subwoofer in range will do 6: I am looking for full surround system thanks
  8. Hello guys, Sometime ago i posted about HD500 and onkyo receiver but after reading reviews small vs large speakers i decided to increase my budget and wait. Following bookshelf speakers are under my range RB41 II or Synergy B20 and center channel C10 Rear Surrounds I already have Sony mini hifi speakers which are 8 ohm 140watts RMS/speaker, they have 5.5 inch woofer and produce room filling bass enough for my taste and neighbour. here is sony i have http://img3.tokobagus.com/28/43/2840433_11246061_detail.jpg I always wanted to have good dialogue performance as it lacked in mini hifi connected with dvd player with stereo input Do you think it is good idea to mix Klipsch + sony speakers and use with ONkyo 609 receiver without sub? Entirely different option: following 5.0 speaker system from JAMO Jamo426 or Jamo506
  9. Appreciate your response, but i hope it was 40$ i have to spend 300$ on airticket to fly to that city.... surprisingly BOSE/Carver showroom is in my walking distance I can expand my budget for 508+500HD combo if it is really significant move from 308+300HD...
  10. Hello friends, Guys before you suggest me to go out and check the demo i want to say it is impossible for me. The city i live in is Sony dominated infact whole country is sony dominated with very few dealers of brands like Klipsch, polkaudio, yamaha, onkyo and they are in city far away from me. Klipsch dealer is offering me combo of Onkyo 308 and 500HD speakers, he says even 300HD paired with 308 will blow away any sony/panasonic HTIB system. I will use my DVD player with this combo for time being and upgrade to BR when prices come down and titles are available in our market. (onkyo TX-SR508 is around 100$ more than SR308) Should i go ahead and buy this combo? it costs me same as sony's Blueray HTIB, Sony is 167 watts/channel while onkyo is only 65watts. I have seen demo of SONY blue ray HTIB and it was good , it will be bonus if 308+500Hd or 300hd could really blow Sony away, i am loving the expansion possibilities of separate components. My friend recently purchased sony DVD HTIB (dz310) and it sounds very pathetic, no detail of sound and sounds like speakers are struggling with dialogue yes it was loud with 130watts per channel but really lacked the sound detail, this is very different than DVD HTIB sony released back in 2002 which sounded loud yet crystal clear even with 50watts per channel. Room i am going to use this system is around 15x10 feet.
