I think speaker placement is key and this guy explains it nice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fFRbj8rpCo

I'm using 2 QSC DCA3022. Compared a QSC to a Parasound A21, the Parasound was sold and bought a second QSC to power my subs. Replaced fans by quieter ones.

The Jubscalas sounded incredible, actually never heard anything like that before, also due to the kind help of @Chris A So I had to go back to the stock La Scala II, too bad, I realize this....

Update: The K402s went to France and the Radian Be drivers found a new home in Austria. Thank you for looking. Wim

Update: The K402s found a new home in France. The Radian Be drivers are still available: €1950 inc shipping in Europe.

Forgot to mention, sorry for that. I edited first post.

@Droogne was the first I contacted. Unfortunately he was not interested. Thank you for mentioning.

I have a pair of K402s for sale. I live in Belgium, Europe. So I guess it will probably be best to have them sold to someone in Europe, as to keep shipping costs to a minimum and avoid customs, TAV, ... The 402s come complete, inc. horns, stands, and 2 pair of drivers: 1) Klipsch K-69-A 2) Radian 950 Be PB, Beryllium diaphragms, 4" voice coil, 2" exit, Neodymium, 8 ohm I bought these drivers new on sep. 17. They were in use for +/- 120hrs, they are actually just broken in. Always used in our living room. Original packaging available, price is €3500 + shipping. Reason for selling = WAF 😭

I don't think you can really go wrong with each model you mentioned. But here's my 2 cents: If you use or plan on using horn loaded mains, then I'd build myself something horn loaded, a Tuba HT or a cinema F20. Horn loaded mains mean horn loaded subs. Keep in mind a horn is usually a bit more difficult to build. If your main speakers have direct radiating bass drivers (reference series) then I'd go for a direct radiating sub (or two 😀)

I use an MC 275 on a pair of LS2s, and I was actually thinking of doing something similar. Maybe moving up to a MC 462. I'm not sure yet, what do you think of your move?

It seems 2018 can't go wrong anymore for us. We replaced our Parasound A21 by a McIntosh MC 275 and a few weeks ago the P 5 was replaced by a C2600.

New Owner of La Scala IIs - Couple of Q's for Other Owners?
Wim M replied to JFHSQT's topic in General Klipsch Info
Horn loaded mains mean horn loaded subs. I had a pair of R 115 SWs with my LSIIs. Man, was I happy when I got them sold! I built myself a pair of Tuba HTs (Low profile version) and never looked back at a direct radiator to go along with La Scalas! -
Yep, the Dayton RSS390HF-4 is the recommended driver. I built two 24" Low Profile Tubas last year. Bass Unlimited!
