  1. I opened the speaker for remake and stumbled to some strange things, first the speaker box is not wooden or veneere, its made of pressed cardboard like the very low end ones, covered with veneere look alike layer, second its specified as 8 ohm speaker when in fact its woofers are connected in parallel 6 ohms each, so resulting in 3 ohm !! speaker. Treble is 6 ohms. Crossover frequency is marked as 1700khz but crossover low pass is around 800-900hz and high pass is 5khz. ?? I work daily with sound and light electronics as designer and repairer and all this looks like a cheat to me. Has anybody any explonations, they are surely original Klipasch speakers as their full of stamps and markings as Klipsch and bought from big dealer 2 years ago. Looks extremely good, high quality in detail.
  2. I checked my RF 52 II crossover and LF is 1mh and 33uf thats about 900hz ok but hf is made of 0.3mh and 3.3uf and that stands for 5khz. So low pass 900hz and high pass 5khz, what happens in the middle 0.9-5khz, thats not made by the book at all. There has to be serious fall in the middle, opened it all to remake it to 3 way with mid speaker in added box upside the speaker.
  3. Adding subwoofer is a total pain specially if you expect perfect clear bass, may be your room is non symmetrical, then try relocate fronts. With subwoofer i leave front setting "large" in receiver, it keeps low to mids more natural in my RF series. In 80-s with 3 way speakers and even mid speakers had dome construction it was way easier to achieve quality. To get a speaker to work perfectly in 30-2000 hz range is a big ask.
