  1. No problem. Ahhh, Scouting. That brings back memories. I'm sure you're probably headed up Ocala way. Maybe not. You can just let me know when it's good for you. This weekend I'm tied up in a bench rest shoot all day Saturday and the morning on Sunday. Thanks for the offer, and If we can set this up, it'll be a pleasure to meet you. Bob
  2. Sounds Good Bill. Damn, That was fast! I guess I didn't even see that you were on.... I don't know what's going on today, but I'm free now or tomorrow evening.
  3. Thank you all for the response. I'm sorry I took so long to review the thread, I've been out of country for the last week and a half. I kinda figured I had the non-drone sealed KG-2's. I just wanted to verify. Bill, yes, I am in Cocoa Florida, and that sounds like a deal and a half. I sure would be interested if you want to PM me and we could arrange a meeting. I try to get over to The Catfish House in St. Cloud once in a while so a few more miles would be fine. Swap, I thought about either porting or putting in my own 10" passive, but I think I would rather just add two subs. I am going the inexpensive route so I just ordered 2 10" Polk audio subs to place under the KG's. I have some 18" stands I'll use to give some minor separation between the subs and KG's.
  4. Hi all, I've been told by Bob Crites to get on here to find out what I have from the experts. I tried to find out from the Klipsch Tech group and they told me what year they were made, but I already researched enough that I knew that. Here is what I sent via E-mail to them: Please Help, I called the tech line yesterday about a set of speakers I was given for my full analog system I have put together to re-visit my vinyl collection that has sat in storage for the last 20 + years. I talked a little with ____ and he was as helpful as he could be without some information I was lacking. He thought these speakers may be Klipsch/Gillum (KG) 1.2's but after researching last night, I don't think so. Some history; A very good friend gave me a set of, what he thought were KG 2's. However while trying to research them for impedance purposes, I have run into some conflicting data. The speakers don't have any of the original inspection decals remaining on them so.... Here is what I have: (See Attached Photographs) -They match the physical dimensions listed on your you web site for the KG2 -They have screw type wire terminals on the (top) back of the cabinets (this orientation is with tweeters above woofers) -Above the wire terminals are stamped numbers (4X245 and 4X246) Stamped into the wood (same orientation as above), so they’re obviously 1982’s -Each are fitted with 8 inch woofers and 1 inch horn loaded phenolic tweeters This is where it gets confusing; -Neither speaker has the rear facing 10 inch passive radiator listed on your web site. There is room for one, but no radiator. -Neither speaker is ported, totally sealed -Neither speaker has silkscreened (PWK) logo on the woofer coil dust cover again, as seen on the Klipsch site, but the Woofer/tweeter speakers visually looks identical to images I have reviewed on-line at various web pages. Not so much with your images because your images have some different details than what I've seen on-line. For instance: a) What looks like a different tweeter (Non-horn loaded Non-phenolic). dark speaker cone (mine are light colored). c) The stamped numbers are on the front (mine are on the rear above the back panel). d) and, as mentioned above, I have no silk-screened woofer voice coil dust cover. I realize they could have been rebuilt but my buddy who has owned them since 1986 said this is how he found them. Any Ideas? These originated from (at least in 1986) from the West Virginia area, and have been very well maintained. Is it possible these may have been some trial type design prior to the addition of a passive radiator? They sound fantastic but with my full tube system lack a little bottom end. It's obviously due to the lack of the 10 inch passive radiator so I'll have to add either one or two micro subs to the system. Or maybe if I'm ever lucky enough to find a set of passive radiators, I could look into adding them on. Not really. I don't want to mess with the dynamics of these wonderful speakers. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance, Bob So, their response was pretty much Dunno! That's OK. You folks, should have a better clue. At least that what Bob Crites from B&K Sound says. Cocoa Bob thanks you all
