  1. Looking for replacement drivers for RB-75s. I know I've seen information on this in years past, but cannot locate the thread. I want to get another 15 years out of them. Any help is appreciated.
  2. I have a pair of Cf3s in my old office that I have listened to every day for the last. 5 years. I recently down sized to a smaller office and no longer have room for theses gems. So I’ve been demoing smaller bookshelf speakers from my collection in my new office as replacements. What a let down. I’d gotten so used to the Cf3 s that I may be unable to live with anything else. Seriously. In a seated position they image as close to live as just about anything. Even my Rb-75s sound hollow in comparison - I have A-B ed them side by side. So now I’m looking for a shrink ray gun to get these beautiful monsters to fit in my new office. Everyone should own at least one pair of the Cfs. There is a difference in the low end of each model, but Roy nailed the imaging in all of them. If you can find em, buy em. They will become more scarce with time and hold their value well. Did I mention the sound great too?
  3. I live in a circle. All my neighbors have some type of decorations for the holiday season including Christmas and Chanukah. We also decorate for Halloween with lights, scarecrows, headstones etc... I friggin love it. We get random cars driving thru the circle, which is difficult to find, stooping in front of houses to admire the decorations. We still take the grandkids out looking at Christmas Lights. It seems there are more and more objects to light up the season every year from Grinches, to Minions, to Mickey. The kids love it too. Pix: My house My Circle My neighbor across the street. We don’t need any of this to make us happy. We are simply happy to do it.
  4. I have a single rb75 I’ve been hoping to pair with a loose mate to put in my basement. I may end up selling it instead, but it’s a single black 75.
  5. Greetings all, I have been thrown into the market to replace a failing bedside clock radio and charging station. The one I have now is now longer treating me with the love and attention for which I lust. I am pretty sure she is cheating on me with that Bose wave radio who just moved in down the street. She now blinks at me as opposed to her once constant timeless gaze. She says she’s charging my phone, but sometimes I know she fakes it. Her audio quality leaves much to be desired any more, and frankly I’ve tired of attempting to extract anything but a static ridden growl from her. Oh what do I do? My friends tell me to kick her to the curb, that she has become too oversized and curmudgeonly for a free spirit such as I. But I do so love her. Alas, I must stand strong and dispose of her ——- albeit properly at the electronic recycling center, and find myself a TROPHY clock radio. Can any of my brethren assist me in my quest to find another, one with bigger sound, a more reliable clock and doesn’t mind if I want her to charge my phone and my iPad at the same time, while I watch. I realize the gravity of the ask, but I just don’t know where else to go at this time. Please help if you can. Your friend, Joe
  6. Oh? What version of the Omens? And were they the Dirty Weekends?
  7. I played the trumpet ( a horn) as a teenager. I heard of this cupping idea. I related the cupped hands trick to putting a mute in my trumpet. The sound was the same. Without the mute the horn opened up in all of its majesty, as do these horns. Just remember to not cup your hands over your Cornwall’s horns and you’ll be fine.

    Pork Rib rub

I’ve tried many rubs for pork. The one my friends and family like the most is Cookies Flavor Enhancer. No real flavor peaks or valleys, just solid porky goodness. I ran out of rub one time while smoking 40lbs of riblets, so I grabbed this stuff for the last 10lbs and the crowd voted them best. I now use it constantly.
  9. If you find a replacement, I’d buy your defective one.
  10. There’s a guy named Tom in Ft Wayne who has repaired a few for me. Nice guy, does good work. He is at Speaker Repair. Ps. I am also looking for CF3 woofer. The guy who had mine before me replaced a bad woofer with a non stock. Aaaaarrrggghh!
  11. I fully agree with the video’s point. I have been listening to music at my desk for years. In the early 90s I had a CD player on my pc and learned how to play cds at work, so I borrowed and listened to entire albums of music daily. The music was inclusive of the 60’s thru the 90’s and mostly of rock, blues and r&b. The next decade introduced me to Napster, iPod, and MP3 players. I became more selective on the exact musical tracks I liked, and could easily shuffle thru them. So my desk became a jukebox of my singles playlists. The same thing I did while making a cassette of “traveling music” for roadies 20 years earlier. Then came Pandora, Sirius, Spotify, and other web music. Since we are always plugged in, we can select whatever we want whenever we want. My brother works for a large firm as their IT manager. Years ago his employees kept asking him to rip their cds to mp3 so they could have their music portably. So fo a period of one year he asked their 600 employees to bring in anything they wanted ripped and he’d do it for them. After that, no more. So people brought him their cds of Mozart, Bananarama, Travis Tritt, Bon Jovi, Beatles, Madonna, Prince, Pearl Jam, etc... he ripped all of them and filled 2 terrabits of space. I have one copy of all of this. So for the first years I continued to make “ cool playlists” of my favorite music from this bounty. In the last year I’ve started listening to the entire albums of each of my favorite bands on this hard drive again. It is fantastic. All those b sides and lost tracks I used to like so much. I have rediscovered old favorites and found new ones hidden deep within those folders. Yes it’s still mp3. No it’s not vinyl. No it’s not through a $20k system with a “head in a vice” sweet spot. I am sitting at my desk ENJOYING the art of all of Neil Young, not just Heart Of Gold. And I am in learning-loving mode again. That is what I got out of that video. Do do you remember the term One Hit Wonder?
  12. Hey richieb - that sounds like either a country song or a Christmas carrol in the making. Just needs 2 cans of Lone Star and an F100 on blocks in the front yard.
