  1. If I had it do over I would go the same way with a Dynavector 10X5 or DV-20X2L depending on budget.
  2. I see the Behringer product mentioned in this thread several times. As far as affordable digital equalizaton goes does anyone have an opinion on the dBx products or similar devices?
  3. I have my La Scalas with a sub in an 18' x 25' x 10' room and have driven them with several amps including SET's. My Cary 300B signature monoblocks with 8 watt/ch are classic SET Class A amps. Also I use Sonic Frontiers push/pull 55 watt/ch Power 1 with KT88 tubes. I had a First Watt solid state SET from Pass for a while just for the fun of it but moved that. Of course, I have also used some solid state class A-B designed amps. Actually they all sounded good to my ears although a little different. The SF sounds more like an extremely quiet SS amp than tube while the Cary 300B's are mid range sweet, very nice. I didn't think the First Watt was worth the price although it sounded good. I have never felt I lacked power even though I sometimes listen fairly loudly.
  4. Anyone using graphic or parametric equalizers in their 2-ch system? Most of the hareware units look designed for the pro concert circuit or studio. I am not familiar with how they would sound in a home environment.
  5. What's the best material for resealing the woofer door on the La Scala?
  6. Thirty minutes. Seems by then the bias settings have stablized where they were calibrated.
  7. It's probably just my bad luck or an isolated case but my Azur amp from Cambridge Audio needed two warranty repairs in less than a year of minimal use. I replaced it with a Japanese made Marantz integrated amp (awesome). The Cambridge stuff is Chinese made. It's in storage in it's original box in my basement.
  8. I use an REL Strata II. No particular issue, just curious. I have mine set like your 55 Hz range. A little suprised by the suggested 70 to 90 Hz recommendations.
  9. When using a sub with La Scalas at what upper frequency of the sub do most of you blend them for your particular room?
