Has anyone thought about using one of the new RP-1200sw or RP-1400sw amps as a replacement? I hope that Klipsch stocks these as a replacement part soon so the issue with the R-115sw cheap amp can be put to rest once and for all. I just had one go out on my sub. The R-115sw plate amp is cheap junk. I will fix this one with better Nichicon caps and larger 10w resistor but still would like a better option. I am just surprised Klipsch went this cheap on the amp. For what a R-115sw cost I am sure people would spend another $50 to $100 not to throw a junk Chinese parts amp in it.

I have not tried the KLF-30 but have compared the RF-83 and RF-7II in both music and home theater. I would take the RF-83 any day of the week over the RF-7II. It is smoother, has better midrange and more bass, and tighter bass. I would trade my set of Cherry RF-7II for a set of cherry RF-83's in a heartbeat.

I would probably just try a rca style male Y adapter to two female RCA outs, and send the same signal to both the sub and the amplifier from your preamp. You would lose the pre-amp's built in crossover but it is not really needed since you can control the crossover frequency at the subwoofer. This is what I do for my audio system since my vintage preamp does not have a subwoofer out and it works great. I probably have my subwoofer gain set to about 9 o-clock and can easy drive it to full output while keeping it balanced with my main speakers.

I am using a Onkyo Integra M-504 amp and P-304 preamp with mine and love it. Only thing I would like better is bi-amping it with two M-504 amps

The software that comes with it is nice also. I like the EQ function. I don't use any of the DSP settings. For a player I am using AIMP3. I like it because it has some really cool skins that look like vintage audio tape decks, amplifiers and equalizers. I just wish they had one that looked like the Onkyo or Macintosh amps. I might put in a request on their forums to see if someone is up for creating one. I am using one that looks like a classic Technics amplifier with the huge meters on the front right now.

I just wanted to share my recent experience. After reading many forums on the subject of computer audio I recently purchased a Asus Xonar Essence XTI sound card for a new PC build. All I can say is wow, it was worth every penny. It really does sound as good as they say it does. It has the option to customize with optional op-amps to tailor the sound. I am using the factory basic op amps right now but even with them the sound is night and day better than anything I have listened too from a PC. The outputs on the card are 1/4 for headphones and two gold rca outputs for 2 channel audio. It has the option for a daughter board for 7.1 audio and a 124db signal to noise ratio. I am running two Klipsch RF-82s with a Onkyo P-304 preamp and M-504 amplifier with a y connector on the preamp outputs to an Infinity 12 inch subwoofer. I spend most of my time in front of the PC so I wanted some good tunes while doing so. Anyway, just wanted to let my fellow Klipsch owners know about the Asus sound card and yes, it is a little high on cost but if you love music from your PC it is worth every penny. I will let you know how it sounds with some upgraded op-amps in the future.

I don't know how their new stuff sounds but I have one of the original VSX-95 Elite receivers and for two channel audio I like it better than all my other gear that includes. a Onkyo TX-NR828, Onkyo P-304 preamp and Onkyo M-504 amp, Adcom GTP-600 preamp and Adcom GFA-545II amp. The Pioneer just has a better sound stage and tighter more defined bass. It is definitely underrated at 130 watts because it drives my RF-83s as hard as the 50lb Onkyo M-504 which is also has an underrated rms power output but a more accurate dynamic power of 350wpc 4 ohms. I figure the new stuff is just as impressive as the first series since they have had years to improve on it.

I was wondering if I could get a copy of the service manual for the KSW 300 from you. Klipsch is not being very helpful and just wants me to send it to their service center to be repaired for far more than what a new amplifier cost.

Did you replace the capacitors you were looking for? I am just wondering if you did this due to a 60hz hum and if it fixed the issue.

I am in need of a service manual or schematics for the KSW-300 subwoofer. I have not been able to locate them in any searches. Amplifier has a 60hz hum on the output with no audio connections plugged in. Suspecting the main two power capacitors but there may be some in the pre-amp section I need to replace also.

Thanks for the suggestions. It will be two channel audio only. I think I would like the Adcom system I have now if I add an EQ. It just doesn't have the warmth of the Elite even when running the Elite in direct mode with no signal processing. I am not sure on that Charlotte Craigslist post. That may be a hot unit.

I would like to purchase a RC-64 to go with my RF-83 speakers in black. I may even consider a RC-62 II if the price is right.

I am looking for suggestions for RF-82 receivers/amplifiers for 2 channel audio. I was using a Pioneer Elite VSX-95 that I loved. The sound stage was perfect and the audio felt like it embraced you but after 20+ years it is starting to have some issues. I tried a Onkyo receiver, the sound stage was terrible but the power was equal to the Pioneer. I am currently using a Adcom GFA-545II amp with GTP-600 preamp. It is not bad sound stage wise but the sound is a little midrange heavy. The power is a little down compared to the Elite also. 1/2 volume on the Adcom equals about 1/3 on the Elite. It just feels like it is missing something. I would like to update but just not sure what to go with. I use a high end Onkyo system on my RF-83's due to I needed a system for home theater but even it did not sound as good as the Elite on 2 channel audio. The newer Elite is Class D digital so I was not sure if that would compare to the vintage Elite. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
