So I got the rc-62ii and it sounds great. It does feel like it overpowers the rf-42ii's a little and I now see how I may have gotten on a slippery slope of upgrading. I do feel like I do get some ear fatigue. I am not sure if that's just in my head because I've been reading about ear fatigue with Klipsch speakers or if its really happening. I do know that I never had any ear fatigue with the quintet/rf-42ii setup. Is it possible that the addition of the rc-62ii is causing it or would it just be in my head? I also got an sw-112 sub for $249 last week. This week, I saw that there is a deal on the Polk PSW505 for $172. Which sub would you say is better not considering the price and which would you say is a better deal considering the price? I think the sw-112 sounds great considering it replaced my kw-100, but I read some bad things about the sw-112 online so I'm assuming I haven't heard better than this in terms of subs. I know this is a Klipsch forum, but an as much of an objective answer as possible would be appreciated. I am running all of this on an Onkyo TX-NR515. Is this sufficient or would I need to upgrade my receiver to maximize the full potential of the system?

It would be possible, but it probably wouldn't happen any time soon as in many months or more likely years. I have found a 52 for $280; but if I can get a 62 for $350, I might as well go for that.

So I have an authorized retailer offering me an rp-440c for $350 instead of the rc-62ii. Should I take this or should I stick to getting either an rc-62ii or rc-52ii? I know it doesn't match my rf-42ii's, but newer=better, right? The rc-62ii and rp-440c would be $350, just at different retailers.

Thanks for your input guys! In terms of buying a used rc-62ii, this may be a dumb question, what are the failure rates on speakers? I don't want to drop $250 on it to have it crap out on me the next month or so with no warranty. Would an rc-62ii be very overpowering compared to an rc-52ii or rc-42ii? Considering an rc-52ii is $280 and the rc-62ii is $350 or $250 used, wouldn't it just be better to get a new rc-62ii for $70 more and future proof myself if I ever do decide to get larger speakers some years down the line? If it were overpowering, aren't there ways to tool around with the receiver to lower the power coming out of the center channel?

Hi guys! So I have been slowly upgrading my quintet system since last year. First replacing the front speakers with a pair of RF-42 ii's. I now want to replace the center channel and am considering the R-25C vs RC-62ii. I know that the RC-62ii is a much better product and I was really leaning towards it since I found it brand new for $350 whereas the R-25C was $250, but I now found the R-25C brand new for $124. So my question is, is it really more worth it to pay $226 more for the RC-62 ii or would I just be fine with the R-25C at this price point? I am not a huge audiophile, but I do enjoy good sound and consider anything an upgrade over my quintet center channel. I could afford the $226, but I'd rather save the money if I can. Thanks!
