  1. Thank you ALL for the warm sentiments. I will definitely take the advice and oil the speakers regularly. Fortunately both the pre-amp and ST70 amp have both been worked on fairly recently so I think I am set on those, and I have been researching shops to take the McIntosh amps to-- (located in the NW). The reel to reel does work thankfully. My Dad has recorded quite a bit on reels over the years and because we were so overwhelmed with the amount of stuff to deal with (while he had some very nice things, he was absolutely buried in trash)- and so we sold a number of Pioneer Reel to Reel machines without considering that we would want to keep a couple to sort through his music. By the time we were left with the TEACs, it was like-- stop the train! Regret selling the Pioneers so cheap, but this will definitely work for now. As far as the audio equipment though, yes, I view these things as treasures to be passed down and keep in the family, so wanting to restore to get them back to where they need to be. My Dad had many interests and when he got involved in something, he went all in. Music was one of those areas, as a player and a listener, he excelled in both. Thanks again guys for all of the kind words!
  2. Thanks SonicSeeker. The love of music has been strong in my family for generations and I too wanted to pass that down to my children. I am happy to say that one of my daughters is a professional musician, so I look forward to hearing her newest release on this system!
  3. Dude, Yes, inherited those as well. As a musician, he had impeccable taste in audio gear. We tried to get his McIntosh power amps working and considering that they were found buried under a bunch of stuff under the house, they are doing okay-- but I think I will need to invest a little bit of money to get them to where they need to be.
  4. WAY bad! I know, it's a hot mess right now, but at least it's all hooked up!
  5. After getting much assistance from my brother, I have the Klipschorn's set up! The room they are in is not ideal, as it isn't big enough, but I don't want to part with these so I made it work for now! Here are a couple of pictures-- there is still some remodeling to take place in the space they are in, so it is a bit of a mess!
  6. Oh my gosh, you guys are awesome. Very busy with managing an estate sale right now, but will post more in a bit.
  7. Hi, I have recently inherited some speakers from my father. Not sure how to date them-- they are model KBWO and serial number 18W315. What can I determine from this serial number? I am pretty ignorant when it comes to speakers and audio equipment, so any information would be appreciated!
