Problems with klipsch heresy hoo speakers

I have a pt270aiu 300 watt receiver hooked up to 2 klipsch heresy hoo speakers and 2 small $20 speakers. For some reason I can barely turn up the sound before it keeps automatically shutting itself off. I can make it louder with the cheap speakers then I can with the klipsch speakers. What are the wattage suggestions on the heresy hoo's? Any help is greatly appreciated. -
