Guys, If my memory serves me, the K-501 from the 450 was a 1 inch exit and was a tractrix horn(? Roy might have to correct me on this). The K-506 horn was from the 456, had a 2 inch exit and was a tractrix horn. The K-506 might be hard to find in the used market. Guys like JoeyB, have a hard time parting with their KP-456 cabinets.

The EP2 would be the direct replacement for the woofer in the K-480. I don't have any K41's, but if my memory is good. The K-41 was an EV woofer. I just looked on EV's website and the DL10X looks the same as the old K41.

Speakerfritz is correct. The K-49-KP is no longer in production. The K-49-EP2 is the woofer that replaced the K-49-KP.

The KP-480 is an 18" woofer with a 15" passive. These ran about $890 MSRP in the mid 90's. They are a good sub if all you are doing is 3 vocals, acoustic guitar and drums. If you add a bass, I would at least get two of them. I use KP-682's myself, but I run a little bit bigger venues.

Guys, Liquid Tension Experiment is three members from Dream Theater and Tony Levin on Bass. Those two albums are awesome. If you have not seen them live, you should see them. It will blow you away what they can do live. A bunch of talented musicians.

It is better to put the low end to the closest boundary. This will get a better bass response from the speaker.

Sounds like you are on the right track. I do not know much about the Bose 502's, but I will ask around. If I found out anything, I will let you know.

Randy, The HF may have a diaphragm busted. The driver can still work with the diaphragm busted. You might want to have a dealer look at the driver for you. About BI-amping the KSM-12, have you taken the input panel off and cut the jumper wires between the top and bottom inputs? If not, just take the input panel off and cut the jumper wires between the top and bottom inputs. The top input is the HF and the bottom input is the LF. If you have any other questions let me know.

Daemom, On the dipoles, the best way to figure out which one faces out. Take a 9V battery and line up the positive lead to the positive terminal and the negative lead to the negative terminal. Which ever woofer moves out is the front of the speaker. If you still have questions, let us know. LHTF

PGH, If you bought the KI-262 in the past two years, the spec on the website is correct. The reason for the difference is the HF drivers. The latest KI-262 has a K-68-A compression driver that has better top end. The spec sheet that has 12.5kHz as the upper limit has a K-52-TI. The K-52-TI has a roll off at the higher frequencies.
