  2. I'm another huge fan of the Bluesound Vault 2 system. Best thing since sliced bread with some cheese and a nice Chardonnay!
  3. I am using Crites AA crossover, stock. I am very impressed with the Belles and the new components. They are very modern sounding but with more punch and dynamics and anything else Ive heard. Low bass will come later. i am thinking a pair of 12" servo subs. However, being in an older apartment building, the subs may wait... Currently using a current model Luxman 507uXII 110wpc into 8ohms. I'd love to demo their 30 wpb Class A amp...
  4. I use the same A-55 mids and CT120 tweeters but went with a new pair of K-33 woofers so I have no comparison to the difference in the Crites woofer. Which crossovers was it you went with, again? I guess I forgot that part. I built a set of Type AA's using the Audyn Plus and do enjoy the way they sound for the most part. I go back and forth with other speakers as the missing bass gets to me and I haven't had time to mess with building a subwoofer yet. But for certain music, and recordings, they do sound great. I had initially run them on the 35 wpc VTA ST-70 amp after we moved in but changed over to a 120 wpc Carver M-200t S/S amp as I didn't need a room heater right now. lol Honestly, the Carver sounds darn good and obviously hardly uses any power at all. I had even hooked them up to a 460 wpc highly modified and upgraded Carver M-1.0t amp and they sounded even better...definitely coasting along.
  5. Unless you stack a bunch of smaller zip ties on top of the main zip tie, in which case it will allow you to hear every single bit of sound.
  6. Yes banana plugs are a standard size + or - manufacturing tolerances of course. And you know those four flaps of metal contact that look like a peel of a banana(hence the name) can be gently pried out to give a tighter connection if necessary.
  7. No pics, and too bad I can't spend it right now. https://ocala.craigslist.org/ele/d/ocala-stereo-equipment/6960100963.html For posterity, since Craigslist ads don't hang around: ELECTRO VOICE SH-1512-ER SPEAKERS ON WHEELS . 9. Howdy Sir, What are you looking for with the HF-35s?
  10. Rplace, or anyone else, If you are serious about getting some two-way Jubilees and trying to save money by getting used ones, then shoot me a PM this weekend. I have some in Connecticut that I might be selling (I need to think it through). If the transaction could be made simple, the discount might be considerable. There is a thread outlining some of the pricing issues ....
  11. I have a living room 13 x 31 feet square, but espace used in home theater is 13 x 12 ..run system 7.2.4 ..I had SVS pb1000 and klipsch SW-110 different size..and brands ..now have R-115sw connected .was thinking was one is better dual before had. run audyssey but now subwoofer the truth, I don't know how to explain myself ... now the 115sw sounds, but the details of the other speakers do not sound as detailed as before, so I don't know, if it is very small space for such a large subwoofer? or have dual R-115sw to compensate. What do masters think? Hey Stacy...do you have pictures of the black Heresy III"s? Thank you, Tim
  14. Sony has always been solid and reliable and there is room to work inside of the SR510H which is a big deal. My brother still has the first Sony CD he ever bought in 85 and it still works well and still sounds good.
  15. I think I opened up the Speaker Wire Connector Terminals Can O' Worms. Not entirely unexpected, though. A big thank you to all your opinions and comments. I find them to be very helpful, which is really what I'm after. Feel free to keep them coming, if you do not find them a waste of time. I especially like the copper bar idea. Do you connect them to your amp and speakers with Super Glue, or will Elmer's work ok? I do have some generic Scotch Tape as well. I heard it has minimal signal loss. And it's archival as well. I'm certain that helps, too.
  16. Appreciate the Offer but Im Broke......... Joe
  17. Love my Quicksilver Intergrated! I used it with Forte III before going back to Chorus II.
  18. Is there an alternative that does not involve making holes or running wires in the walls? I'd consider more floor standing speakers or stands, probably 10/12" woofer would be plenty. My neighbors can already hear my music when turned up (no I'm not in the room when I'm doing this) so the SPL is accounted for, just looking for timbre matching surrounds and center for an immersive movie experience.
  19. Back in the good 'ol days of car and home audio, I owned one of the Rockford OSC2 tone generators. Direct RCA connection to the amplifier and could simply sweep the frequency in a quick fashion. Was great for finding odd resonance frequencies in cars and rooms and, of course, finding the tuning frequency of a port in an enclosure in the vehicle...especially back in those SPL days.
  20. Still available if you're interested.
  21. Well it could be the receiver if he is using it as a Pre, but has tried two different amps. He needs a fully different source to take the first step to determine speaker problem or electronics problem. We need more clarity
  22. Be adventurous and make an offer! It's like asking out a girl, the worst you can hear is "no"!
  23. @lkirkpatrick picked up the Cornwalls yesterday, (He is a solid individual) Marantz 1060 is going to FedEx today for @jimjimbo Eico HF-35 monoblocks are still available!
  24. You are correct. No boominess and super tight, clean low bass.
