      I changed out the resistors that were extras for the Qualio Iq ultras to the green resistors and that cut the highs down quite a bit-  and maybe a tad too much for my ears liking. I asked Santa for a new streamer/dac/preamp that has EQ and room correction built in. If I get that for Xmas I can perfectly dial in my system but for the genres of music I often listen to the highs are not irritating to me. I listen to a lot of acoustic music and I enjoy the sounds of acoustic guitars and female vocals. @idontknow found the highs to be too much for him when he listened to my system but I have now listened for many hours to lots of my music and with the green resistors installed it sounds great to me. It will be a couple of months before my system is fully dialed in and I’m in no hurry. The speakers, amps are not going anywhere. Tweaking just gives me an excuse to listen to more of my records and playlists.

      Just bought RP-8000f II - Questions

      Hello Klipsch friends.   It has been many years since I purchase any speakers or subs. I have been trying to stay off the audio forums so I don't keep getting the itch to buy/upgrade or build.   But finally, the RP-8000f II speakers are on sale for under $1k a pair so I had go give in.   Questions:   What are the proper placement for these speakers. How far should they be from each other, and how far away from the back and side walls?   Also, what are your favorite albums to break in your new speakers or for critical listening?   Thanks much. Greatly appreciate your responses.   PS: I am driving them with Emotiva amp, and pairing them with 4x 15" sealed subs.

      Maybe wait for the upgrade that's coming our way early next year.  I've got a pair the Klipschorn AK-6 and waiting for the upgrade package.  There will be an upgrade for the LaScala and Klipschorn...just a thought.

      Is it wise to keep the AL5?

      After listening to the Underground Jubilee for a few months, today I reconnected the AL5. Taking a week to say goodbye before storing them away for a long time. My plan was to keep them and only sell them when I'm convinced they can go. Knowing that these speakers tend to hold their value. But is that really the case? Next year the AL6 will be released. What will this logically do to the price of the AL5 on the second-hand market? Logically, I would think they will lose some value. But how much are we talking about? 15% or maybe 25%, or even more?   If the release of the AL6 causes the AL5 to lose a significant amount of value, I’ll need to reconsider how smart it is to hold onto them.
