  1. I have had unfortunate experience with svs this past month. As you all know my girlfriend bought me my entire surround sound system. Included in the seup were 2 svs sb13 ultra subs, which were never received. 2 weeks had past from order date and still nothing. I get tracking number and track.FedEx tracking says that they were delivered to address and signed for a week earlier. Package was delivered at 9am and signed with a scribbled signature not matching mine. I do not return home from work till at least 730pm so the package would have sat outside all day. I contacted fedex quickly and told them my situation, they would send info to trace dept and I would hear back after 48 hours. I continued to contact svs regarding the situation and was told Dan would return my call. For 2 days Dan was calling the wrong number then decided to write an email to me... Based on a message received by a member of our Customer Service team, there may be some confusion regarding the delivery and receipt of your 2 SB13-Ultra subwoofers from your order 28679-993. Since you have not returned my calls to discuss, we are assuming that there was just some initial confusion and they are now in your possession. However, if that is not the case and because this is across state lines, we would need to involve both the federal and local law enforcement agencies and file the proper police reports and begin a criminal investigation. As you can see from the attached documents, FedEx is showing proof of delivery at your delivery address and also showing that is was signed for on January 6th 2014. Please get back to us as soon as possible and let us know if the confusion has been reresolved. If not, we will begin filing all of the proper documentation with the authorities so that we can expedite a resolution to this issue. .... Since the email local police department cannot do anything because theres no proof of criminal activity. When I told Dan from svs this he quickly demanded the officers name that told me and his tel number. This made me feel as if I was being dishonest with him. Then began asking who and when did I speak to at fedex so he can confirm all info. Fedex had told me that $3200 package was sent uninsured and indirect signature required. When I looked up indirect signature required it basically says anyone can sign. Very stupid move on svs. My feeling is that package was delivered to the wrong address because during the Christmas season they hire anyone to help with the holiday season. Throughout this ordeal svs has made me feel as though I'm screwing them and that this situation is impossible. Dan at svs doesn't seem as proactive as I am in trying to get this resolved. Ive gone to 2 fedex offices and local police department in person but have gotten no where. Svs just asks who have you spoken to and we want their info. Well I'm fed up with being treated like that. Ive done all that I can. I have disputed the charge with my credit card and will never purchase anything from svs. Poor customer service and very stupid shipping Dept. What sub's do I buy now??
  2. I can't put them on the outside of the windows because there will be built-in cabinetry.

  4. here are some pics of the room before renovations with proposed speaker placements. I would like to get everyones thoughts.
  5. Wow!!! Thank you SuBXeRo. You've made me much more comfortable.
  6. I think this would would be a safe bet with future flexibility. Why not get the Onkyo(or the Denon 4520 for that matter) and see if it underpowers the fronts. If not satisfied, then add an outboard amp. The Onkyo TX-NR3010 has about 95% of the Onkyo's or Integra's flagship preamp/processors performance and feature set. Bill Bill, isn't the emotiva an outboard amp. Don't forget this is my first rodeo.
  7. Guys getting into seperates is a little intimidating for me and seems to be very expensive compared to an avr. My only worry is that my left and rights will be a but underpowered (kl-6504-thx). Specs recommend 200 watts. I like the onkyo Tx-nr3010, it has great reviews and the ability to eq both of my sub's. and is available locally much cheaper than anyone online. What if I was to add an emotiva Xpa-3 to the system for the extra power for the fronts. I can get it done for under 2k. Thoughts?
  8. Will this combo work. Marantz av7701 and an Outlaw 7700 amp
  9. Pictures will definitely be posted. Installation probably wont be for a couple of weeks. I know its killing me too. I will also take more pictures of the room and get some feedback on placement. Ok so it seems that going with separates is the way to go. That's taking me into unknown territory, so please give me all the guidance possible. I certainly do not want to under power these speakers. Which models should I be looking at and also what wires will I need.
  10. THAT'S ME...I must thank everyone that helped her... Best gift ever. She completely had me blindsided. The best part of all she didn't skimp out. She left this part to me now...how to power these works of art. We were hoping that you would not catch her and think she was carrying on a cyber relationship with some dude, or in this case some dude(s). Bro, that woman loves you. wow about the dual SVS SB13 Ultras? You are in for a treat. Bill After this gift she can do whatever or whomever she wants. yea she takes care of me. Throughout the years she would make fun of me at the amount of research I do prior to buying anything. I would show her how I go on forums and absorb all the info and ask many questions. I guess I taught her well.

  13. Thank you. I have 7 speakers (all in wall) doesn't matter whether I use a multichannel receiver or a preamp/processor with amp. what would be the benefits of using one rather the other. room is 20 x 20 x 12. system would be 80% ht and 20%music
  14. Would like to get some opinions on powering my thx ultra II speakers and dual subs. This is my first go at HT and would like to do it right. I would like to keep it under 1700. Thank you
