I finally finished my 5.1 home theater. It consist of RF-83 front, RC-64 center, KSW-300 15" subwoofer modified with a PE Yung 300 watt Class D amplifier to replace the humming Bash amp, BIC America Acoustech PL-66 surround speakers. I am using a Onkyo TX-NR828 to power the system and bi-amp the fronts, Sony Blu-Ray, Toshiba 65 inch TV. I was running a BIC Acoustech PL-28 center with 8 inch drivers that sounded great, actually more efficient than the RC-64 I replaced it with but I feel the tonal characteristics of the RC-64 blends better with the RF-83's . The BIC was a little bright. It would probably blend better with RF-82's or RF-7's. Don't let the BIC cost fool you, very nice construction, beautiful black lacquer speakers. For my 2.1 audio only system I am running from my PC, a Asus Xonar Essense STX audiophile sound card, Onkyo P-304 preamp, Onkyo M-504 amplifier, RF-82 fronts, Infinity 12 inch subwoofer modified with a PE Yung 200 watt class D amplifier, Yamaha CDC-735 CD player.
