  1. To Amy, Joe, Jeannie, and all moderators and people that make a difference at Klipsch: please don't let the people that you have put in charge of selling your products here in the Utah Ultimate Electronics store get away with murder. The chimps that are selling your products in that particular store do not do them justice. This thread is living proof of how ridiculous it is to deal with them. You have gone ahead and put your products in the hands of infidels. They have no care for your customers, or for the research and development that have gone into producing the speakers that they sell. I don't care how many excellent UE stores you have nationwide that claim to be so superb, if you have just one store that is treating your customers the way I've been treated, or are so clueless as to the product they are selling, I would strongly suggest removing your brand from that store. They are doing a HUGE injustice to the name Klipsch. When you go into this store and you want to view the reference series speakers, you walk clear in the back to a room that you wouldn't be able to find or know existed without the aid of someone else, where a cherry reference series theater is. The grill to the RSW-15 they are showcasing is broken and barely hanging on, the cones to the RS-7 surrounds are punched in, the RF-7 fronts are toed in wrong, and the Pioneer receiver they have powering the whole deal is set to stereo while playing Saving Private Ryan. The subwoofer gain is turned all the way up and the settings on the amp are totally jacked. Hardly justice to really show what your product can do. I recently visited the store during this fiasco to try and demo some Def Tech speakers that a member in my family was looking at and the salesmen, who claimed to be the floor manager, didn't even come into the room to help us until we asked. Upon getting into the room we tried to get a decent movie test from them and he didn't know how to get the amp working right, so since it was in stereo mode I suggested he show us some music instead. These speakers were being driven by a Sunfire amp and were the 7001's. A very nice speaker indeed, and they sounded so horrible. The internal amp in the front left speaker was blown and so he turned both amps off so that they would be equal. Horrible. Absolutely crazy to think that anyone would dare by a speaker after listening to a demo like that. I was totally embarrased for the salesman. But he didn't act like it was any big deal. This is the caliber of people that are selling your product. They obviously didn't care about a long-time customer like myself who has purchased so much with them before, what makes you think they'll cater to the new customer that wants to know what all the hype about Klipsch is? For the love of all that remains holy on this wretched consumer planet, please extend the wrath of your hand to these people and either see that their service changes or pull your products from them so that they can't taint the Klipsch brand any longer.
  2. You won't be disappointed with the 3805. Denon makes a fine product and it sounds great with Klipsch. Sounds like the 3805 would be great for your budget too. You can always upgrade to a separate amp later, the 3805 will make a perfect pre-amp.
  3. I was very pleased to see my new RSW-15 waiting for me when I got home from work today. What a nice piece. This new sub is absolutely flawless. The wood grain is much nicer than my old one too, IMO. I took some photos of the old one and the new one together. I will attach them for your viewing pleasure. I was somewhat tempted to hook up both subs, but I didn't want to go to the hospital with bleeding ear. Again much thanks to Amy and Jeannie for going extra on this one. My renewed faith in Klipsch has made me a once again very proud and satisfied owner. I've already got the old RSW-15 in the box and will be shipping it back to Klipsch asap. Awesome job guys ... sub1.zip
  4. You guys should all fight.
  5. My 2 suggestions: Rotel RMB-1095 or the Outlaw Audio 770. The 1095 is only 5.1 but gives you 200w per channel, the Outlaw will do 7.1 and is 200w/channel at 8ohms 300w/channel at 4 ohms. The Outlaw runs 1799 and is a deal. http://www.rotel.com/products/specs/rmb1095.htm http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/770.html Let us know what you decide ...
  6. Received an email today about 3pm from Jeannie Almond at Klipsch. She was telling me that my subwoofer had shipped yesterday and was on its way. She and Amy have handled this problem so professionally and in such an amazingly timely manner that I am super pleased about. I would assume the sub will make it here within a weeks time. Very, very nice of Klipsch to have stepped in to this situation. They shouldn't have had to do that for Ultimate Electronics and I really hope you guys (Klipsch) let them hear about that. Amy and Jeannie, thank you again. Klipsch always comes through!
  7. Ms. Amy Unger, you are such a sweet person. Thanks so much for stepping in and representing Klipsch in a way that is in comparison with the great products you make. After receiving a phone call from Jeannie(sp?) this morning (it was the most pleasant conversation since this all began) things have changed completely. She was very helpful and considerate of everything that had happened. This is the very action I had been hoping for all along from the guys at Ultimate Electronics. You have definitely stepped up and done the right thing, unfortuneate that it was you that had to do that instead of Ultimate. I hope/plead/beg/scream that you will give those fellers at Ultimate the hashing of their lives. Make it known throughout. Get it up to the new guy Mark Wattles. Let him know what he's facing taking on a challenge of reviving such a poorly run company. As far as I'm concerned I will never set foot in their doors again as long as I live. I look forward to receiving the new sub and to resolving the case and justice being served. I can't say thanks enough. Jeannie(sp?) said on the phone that they will ship the sub right to my door and should have it within a few days. Excellent, excellent turnaround Klipsch. Thanks so much for taking care of a lifelong customer.
  8. CECAA850, Awesome info. See I told you SVS knew what's up! I'm going to contact Mr. Gerry Demple tomorrow to see about a complete refund for this completely ridiculous situation. Customer Service is obviously not in Klipsch's or Ultimate Electronics' vocab. I would think if UE really backed their customer care policy they would have overnighted me a sub to my door. At least CECAA850 got a free hat!!! What the hell????!!!@&^%!&@!!!
  9. Perhaps I just get my money back, give back UE their trashed subwoofer, and make 400 bucks difference by getting one of these: http://svsubwoofers.com/subs_pb12_plus_2.htm I hear SVS has amazing customer service ...
  10. Good one Colter ... Got another phone call from Gerry at UE this evening. He left a voicemail for me. Basically said some more weird stuff that doesn't seem to gel. He said that there were only demo models available right away and that to get me a brand new one they had a shipment scheduled to come in on the 22nd to their CO warehouse. Then it will take another week or so to get one to the Utah store so end of Feb. Question: if UE was keeping their word about ACTUALLY getting me a subwoofer, it should have been here weeks ago. So why should I trust anything I hear from them now??
  11. Minn_male, hahahaha ... too funny! That is a great idea about the power amp. Even if just to get an idea of what the 7's COULD sound like. There is a place that my work outsources to that provide AV equipment for large tradeshows and conf. I bet they'd have somethihng. Thanks for the tip ...
  12. Mike, hey who wouldn't want more power? My 3802 does nicely though. Someday I would really love to venture into separates but I'd probably have to get divorced first.
  13. Amy and the Klipsch Moderators, I have been working with Gerry Demple at UE. He is supposed to get me more information on the new sub he is getting for me. If you really want to get to the bottom of things on UE's side I suggest talking to him. 1.800.260.2660. Sheryl, Dave Workmans' sec, got the info to Gerry and he's taking it over. Again last I heard from him was that he had a new sub and was working on trying to find out when he could get it to the Utah store and into my hands. I'm still baffled as to why its so hard and how little they know about getting one of your Klipsch subwoofers to their own stores.
  14. Mike, that 4802 and your Outlaws your running ought to be putting some sweet power to your 35's. They'd make some 7's sound absolutely amazing I'm sure. I hear the bass really comes alive in the 7's with plenty of power to them. As far as a listening spectrum goes, I'd have to say that missing high-end you would get with a nice pair of 7's as well. Thanks for asking about the sub fiasco. As always you can read the latest in my perpetual post. I add to it almost daily now. It just dumped a whole fresh load of snow here. Skiing is fantastic this year too. If ya ever make it up this way ...
  15. Gramas, sorry I mis-read what you meant. It's all so clear to me now. I failed to mention that the first phone call from Gerry he asked if I'd be ok with a gift certificate or maybe a new cabinet for the sub. I can't even comment on that after 3 months of this.
  16. I know that noone will believe me, but I actually RECEIVED, (yes I was on the receiving end) a phone call from Gerry at Ultimate Electronics. He told me that he personally reserved a subwoofer and said that he has a stash of new ones coming to the Utah store here. He also let me know that he would call me back tomorrow with exact dates to when I would receive it and give me a new order number. The fact that I didn't have to call him is very promising. That's a first from the UE guys. Still haven't heard wind from Joe Lee from Klipsch. Perhaps he's read the thread and is pulling from the situation, though I would have appreciated a simple phone call. C'mon Klipsch I ain't feelin' the love!
  17. This has been a subject that has been discussed several times. Its a good one. I've had both, I currently have the RF-7's and I had a pair of 30's a little while back. The 30's will always stand to what they've always said about them and it really is probably the best rock n' roll speaker of all time. I really love the Legend series. There are things about them that I like better than the Reference series, but there are things in the Reference series I like more than the Legends. For me I think the Legends are not as harsh and are more musical with 2 channel music. They are great with movies as well though I would have to summarize that their strong-point is music. They tend to have a warm sweet sound. The Reference series are much more accurate if that's the right word. They seem to pick apart recordings in 2 channel music and can almost sound harsh with their clarity and accuracy. They are amazing multi-channel movie speakers. Though I will still listen to 2 channel stereo with them because I enjoy doing that. I'll usually turn down the treble to -2 or -4 even and crank the bass up to about +8 or +10. Everyone has diff ears though. If you can have a listen to both. If you're in the Utah area I could help you out there.
  18. Gramas, I wish that were the truth. This resolution has not been handled through PM's. I have spoken with our Klipsch rep Joe in CO a total of 4 times on the phone and he has yet to give me any sort of concrete resolution, though I appreciate his willingness to try. I received a phone call this evening from someone 'up-high' in the chain at UE. His name is Gerry and he works directly for Dave Workman. He is now 'assigned' to this case. He told me that this whole situation was completely ridiculous and that he had not been aware of it until now. He told me that he would remedy the situation ASAP and also promised me that he would give me a phone call no later than Wed of this week. I've heard all of this before. I hope that Gerry really comes through on his word. UE's name/reputation/whatever is all hanging on that. I was also supposed to hear from the manager at my Utah Ultimate Electronics store today. Again no phone call. Not even a courtesy call. Completely unbelievable/pathetic/ridiculous. I seriously can't believe a product like Klipsch would allow their speakers to be sold by such incompetent people. I would think that anyone at Klipsch who caught wind of this situation would pull their stuff from places like this immediately. Unfortuneately I'm just a peon and in the words of Joe, "this doesn't happen very often with Ultimate Electronics." I guess I hope that's true. Either that or I'm the only one voicing my experience.
  19. OK Monday morning here and I just got off the phone with Sheryl who is Dave Workman's secretary there at Ultimate. She had no idea of the situation and told me that she would "elevate the problem to the people here." So, she also said that she would be in touch. Come on Dave, come through for Klipsch!
  20. Ditto on the HD. Nothing quite like watching the game last night in 16:9 with Dolby Digital sound. Though I agree Chris, the sound was way unbalanced. I too had to crank it up to even hear Charlie Daniels or Black Eyed Peas. But the actual game sound was great. I have the only HD TV in my family thus far and needless to say, everyone was over at my place last night. Nothing quite like it, especially for sports. Oh and it was a great game too ...
  21. Thanks so much you guys for the support. I think we all know how it feels to be treated like a number or to have been strung around to no avail in the customer service area. This is my only real issue with Klipsch customer service or Ultimate's customer service. They have great products, and as many have said in this thread, if you spend the money for an $1800 subwoofer, equally in value should be the customer service to back that subwoofer. I hope to hear from Joe today. I also hope to get in touch with someone at Ultimate today too. Mark Wattles are you taking calls yet? This really is a simple solution, a no-brainer. I have an uncle that is ready to purchase a complete Definitive Tech setup. He was thinking of going with Ultimate because they're the only Def Tech dealer in this area. After this experience he's seen me go through, needless to say, he will not be purchasing that setup from Ultimate. Authorized dealer or not, he will gladly give his money elsewhere. You see how it works Ultimate? Good customer service spreads. Had you taken care of a long-time customer you would have earned another one in return. Like I say, its not hard. Hopefully Mark Wattles knows this and can turn things around for Ultimate. He certainly has his work cut out for him.
  22. OK, the hits keep on coming with this subwoofer deal. I'm really concerned here after having Klipsch directly involved and the higher-ups at Ultimate and still not having any sort of resolution. I have not heard back from Joe at Klipsch, we spoke on the phone Tuesday the 1st and he was supposed to get back to me 'in a couple of days.' I was supposed to receive a call by Wednesday the 2nd from the manager at Ultimate and never did, I had to actually call him to receive my answer that the subwoofer was not there. I just phoned him again (no he didn't call me) this evening and still no subwoofer. On Monday the 7th I'm going to try and contact someone in the upper offices at Ultimate again and see how that route goes. Soon following my disappointment there I will be in touch with the BBB to see if there can be any intervention from them that will get the boys at Ultimate to stand at attention. We (the consumer) should not have to deal with this. It's insulting. Both to we who love audio and to the manufacturers of such fine components. This thread has become a document trail. I think its great that Klipsch has this forum and that we can speak freely. I hope that everyone that has had a bad experience will voice it so that we (the consumers) can avoid these establishments and save someone the headache that I've gone through.
  23. Very, very, cool. I imagine the sound to be most fulfilling. Gorgeous TV as well, an audiophile's mecca.
  24. Wow the saga continues. Just got a call from our good guy Joe at Klipsch who represents the UE store here where I'm at. He somehow heard wind of my subwoofer woes that are still continuing and is going to intervene YET AGAIN to try and resolve this issue. Waiting to hear back from him as well as the manager of UE here. He promised he would call by end of day tomorrow. This is going to be interesting to see how it all pans out.
  25. Firstly, Toddjv, if you're going to post something at least read the all of the information first so you know what you're talking about. If you'd read the whole thread you'd know that I have photos of my subwoofer, documentation if you will, that it was in good shape. I haven't called anyone a punk in the store either. Those words are not professional and should be used for places like, hmmm, oh yeah a forum. Plus when you say things like: "I didn't say your story was one-sided, I said we (meaning all of us on the forum) have only heard your side of the story. That might seem like semantics to you, but believe me, there is a big difference." you might want to know that by saying "we've only heard your side of the story" actually does mean one side. See, there are a total of 2 sides here. Its consumer vs Ultimate. Anyway, just think before you post, please. Secondly, I paid another visit to our friendly neighborhood UE this afternoon. It is now officially over 3 months since the mishap. I was initially disappointed, yet again, when I went in and the manager said, "To tell you the truth I haven't even thought about your subwoofer until you just came in." Man talk about a bad foot to start the conversation on. It did get better from there though. He made a call to their distributor in CO and they are getting 4 black RSW's on the 31st of Jan. He told me that one of those 4 is going to be mine. They have told me I should have my new sub by middle of next week. I even have an order #, so that is promising. Also on a brighter note for UE they have put a man named Mark Wattles in charge of things and we should be looking at him turning things around real soon. Mark comes from Hollywood video and people have nothing but great things to say about him so I hope to see some awesome changes happening with our store here soon. Just a note of appreciation to all who have taken time to read about this crazy mishap and who have provided me with excellent info and help. Does not go unnoticed. This is a fantastic forum. I'll let you know how the delivery of the new sub goes next week. Klipsch has an amazing product and like I said I hope to see great things changing with our UE store here, Klipsch deserves good distributors. Long live the horn ...
