  2. As I perused the vinyl store today I came upon a real gem...a bootleg copy of Led Zeppelin live from the Royal Albert Hall 1971 with the vinyl in great shape...sounds amazing like Zep is playing in my room... One of 400 pressings, the first hundred of which came with a Zep shirt which this one has its #4 out of 400. What really cool is that the jacket says Led Zap but the record label says Knocker Records... The M-Brooks Band Expanding and Exploding... The jacket is red with black writing labeled Led Zeppelin Albert Hall 1971 with a silhouetted picture of a conductor. Anyone have any info on this album?

    Regards

  3. Well finally got my Thorens TD125 TT after an eternity of waiting...all I can say is WOW. Am listening to Vicente Gomez Concierto Flamenco y Calypso Fantasy (one of the 400 1950-1960s albums left me by my father) and it sounds as if he and the accompaning pianist are in the room with me. Driving my fortes with a HK 430..Cant wait until the LK72 gets here.. Last night it was 30th anniversary Dark Side of the Moon (WOW), some U2 Rattle and Hum and an import Rolling Stones album called Stripped..Mick and the boys never sounded so good. All I can say is im now hooked on vinyl. Its gonna be so enjoyable going through my dad's old jazz albums and also searching for new vinyl as well....

(just fired up Eddie Heywood "Begin the Beguine" All i can say is WOW WOW Jazz as it should sound)

  4. I really like my Fortes..havent heard them through a tube amp yet but the HK430 makes em sing..... great bass..think your speaker choice will be dependent on the type of music you listen to and at what decible lvl 9.gif as well as you budget..a good used set of Fortes can be had at a reasonable price and not only do they sound awesome but they are a very attractive pieces of furniture..of coarse a set of Khorns would be the best but them you'd have to go tubes3.gif

  5. Well while I am waiting for my Scott LK72 tune up at Craig's, I decided to pick up a cheap used amp to get me by, so I purchased a hk430 for 42.00 off of ebay..for a while I though I was scammed but after 3 1/2 weeks and cases filed with ebay and paypal and many un answered emails my amp actually arived today..following the initial shock of the condition of the shipping box and the poor packing I unpacked the amp...it looked ok upon examination with no rattling or pieces falling out so I set it up with my fortes.... all I can say is WOW...sounds amazing..tuned in a classic rock station and after 2 from Zep and 2 from Dire Staights and a couple from Blood Sweat and Tears I have to say I'm am in love with my Fortes and can't wait to hear them with tubes and vinyl. The HK 430 is another gem...plenty of power for the Fortes and a great sound..plenty of bass and warm rich sound...for the money this amp is definetly a bargin. can't wait to hook up a cd player to it:)

    Thanx for the HK430 amp suggestion..Its a winner 3.gif

    regards
