Very nice, Bernie!!!
Are they on the second floor also with the Georgians?

The mid squawker has, it looks like, a motor operated throat cover. It's a nice horn, but I don't think that Klipsch would build something like this. Anybody familiar with this?

CONGRATULATIONS, BERNIE!I
Other than the crossovers, are you thinking of doing any mods/upgrade to them?

That's really awesome, Q! You got the sweet spot all figured out.

There is one more reason that I have been putting off changes. I don't like the room anymore. It's 17' wide and 30' to the bar wall behind the Dean. Then it is open for another 20' (the kitchen). The room sounds good, and part of the reason is that it is open in the back, but it's now too small. I want to try a room at least 22' wide x 40' deep. I want to sit in the center of the room. I'll show you a drawing later if you like.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to go. New house, or modify this one. Do I sound confused? Well, I am.
After all of the above is accomplished then I want to experiment more with the Dean. Who knows? There is a chance that I may replace all the Klipschorn bass horns with the Deans and turn up the sub another 10 or 20 Hz. I believe that djk once said that when you hear a sax through 311-90 you have to whip the spit off of your face. I find that true. I also know that when I hear a bass guitar or kick drum through the Dean that it sends shivers up my spine.
I like to see your drawing but my vote really is for a new house, Q , a bigger one. (easy to say 'cause it's not mine).
I know I'll be replacing my Khorn clones with Deans and Classics. One is already out of the den, replaced by the Classic. A coworker suggested mini-Deans using 6" drivers for rear speakers, with the cobreflexes on top. Not a bad idea, since I don't have a large den. Your high boy Dean looks good, too!
I'm working on the Dean drawings and mods. Will send you a copy when I get done.

I sent you a p.m.

I would know the correct distance of the mouth from the motorboard of the Khorn.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks.
Lorenzo.
Your question is not quite clear. Are you asking the distance from the mouth of the bass horn to the motorboard (i.e. length of the bass horn)?

No problem, Duke. Tell Steve to post some pictures.
I bought a new Ridgid table saw last weekend, just like Tom Mobley's.
I'll be busy like Steve.

So, what's your next project, Q?
You're always doing something interesting with your speakers.

Those looked like real knots though.
A friend of mine, also a speaker builder(bass reflex fan), found and sent me this picture from another website. I told him I know who the owner is, and sent him the link to this post. He has not seen what you have for the rear speakers. He'll probably fall from his chair when he sees them.

"Klipsch". Was that wood from a tree from your backyard, or was it from Hope?can you see what I see?
Amazing way to use a K-horn bass bin. I would have never thought of that in a hundred years.

Great pictures, Q-Man!!
University calls the Classic a lowboy or a highboy, and the Dean just a lowboy. NOT ANYMORE!!! It also looks better than a Classic!
The angled rear corners make your Dean look much smaller, too. I think if it is painted black with black grille and silver posts for legs, it will be a match to my JVC projection TV.
That's a really impressive collection of horns you've got. What are you using for the center, Q? I can make out the Altec 311 and the tweeter, but is there a bass section up there?

The midhorn and what looks like a rectangular access in front are clues....it is a Georgian.
You're right, Neil. It is one UGLY Georgian.

I gotta see this. A Dean on crutches?[]
You gotta do whatever works, right?

Final bid is $168.50.
I've seen C15W woofers in excellent condition go as much as $200 on ebay.
Anyone with La Scala photo details?

You may want to check the thread on building a Belle, the construction is basically the same.
