Just bought a pair of KG-4's. When I did and A/B comparison with my Forte II's, I was really disappointed. The KG-4's sounded muddy and dull. Is there really that much difference between the two? Or could there be something wrong with my KG-4's?

I bought a pair of Forte II's about 9 months ago. I ran them with an early 70's Marantz 2270, and thought they sounded great. I could only compare them to the early big Advents I had, but the sound was vastly improved. I had read here that tube was the way to go. Long story short I ended up buying a Cayin TA 30 w/all the mods from Paul at Bizzy Bee. I'm new to the tube amps but I couldn't be happier. Separation, diffenition and clarity are outstanding. I'm hearing a lot more music than I did before. My two cents says go with tubes. Good luck with your search.

I am looking at buying a NAD PP2 and wondered what you thought of it. I'll be using it with a Cayin TA30 and Forte II's. I know it is considered enter level but then that's where I'm at.
Thanks

If a guy waits long enough and treats others fair good things will happen. I just got a pair of mint Forte II's about a month ago and absolutely love them. Had read here that they sounded great on tubes and got a Cayin TA 30, they sound even better. Good luck with them.

I just bought a Cayin TA30 from Paul and I'm really happy with it. I'm running it through Forte II's so when I saw your post it generated interest. I'm new to this tube thing and looking to tie my Thorens TD 160 to the Cayin. So I need to research phono preamps, any info on the NAD PP-2?
Can I get info on the Fitz/Armstong CD I want to purchase a one.

I see you have a Cayin TA 30. What can you tell me about it. I just bought a pair of Forte II's and was considering the Cayin. Right now I have a Marantz 2270 and wanted to move to a tube system.

Looking for any info on the Cayin TA 30. Had a great conversation with Paul at Bizzy Bee and wanted to hear from anyone who has owned one with or w/o his hop-up mods. I will be using it with Forte II's. I understand there is no phono jack, I want to run a CD and turntable.

Thanks Craig, it's early on for me and I want to explore all options. This AM I was listening to "The Sex Mob Does Bond" and realized how much I was missing with my old Advents. This is great to rediscover. Thanks for the reply.

Some of the reading I've done has me leaning toward the Jolida 202a.It's in my price range and the reviews I've read are encouraging, they sound like a good match. At this point I'm happy with the Marantz but always looking to improve.

Thanks for the good advice. I knew I found the right place for reliable information.

I just bought a pair of Forte II's and I'm running them off a Marantz 2270 that's over 30 years old. I would like to up grade and have heard the tube type amp & pre-amps will give a better sound. This is my first pair of Klipsch and I've been out of the stereo world for quite a few years and feel I'm at the novice level. Would appreciate any advice.
