You may wish to look at the following two receivers:
Denon 3805
Rotel RSX-1067
The denon has lot's of nifty features most will never use, and the Rotel has significantly higher sound quality.
As the owner of a Reference 7 series setup that is not too different than yours, you may wish to consider separates. My 7s didn't really sing till I moved from a reciever to separates with good amps.
I agree that the monster cables are overpriced and underperform. Check out www.knukonceptz.com for some reasonably priced high quality interconnects and speaker wire. I can't comment on the Furman since I use a Monster HTS3600 myself.

Hey Jerry,
Thanks for the info.
I actually looked at the Denon initially, but passed on it becuase the 3805 doesn't have a THX decoder. It looks like I have to go up the 5803 to get that in the Denon line, and that is quite a bit more than i am willing to spend on the receiver.
The Rotel looks interesting as well, but it only has 2 optical in ports and i think i am going to need 3 (PS2, Satellite, and DVD).
What type of separates did you end up adding to push the speakers?
