  1. Chris... You mentioned If I decided to go with the Klipschorns you replied... "you'll want to have a horn-loaded center channel" Which speaker do you have in mind? Is the KT-LCR the correct speaker? I guess if I'm going to spend this kind of money on older but quality speakers I want to get the correct match. I'm starting to lean towards the Klipshorns even though they are $600 more. Thanks,
  2. The speakers will be in a finished basement...New house under construction. The width will be about 24' wide and the length of the room will be about 35-40' long. The basement will be a combo Game/HT room. The basement itself is about 55' long. I will be using a 65" Rear Projection TV. A/V is undecided but looking at NAD, Outlaw, and High end Denon...No decisions yet. Price on the Klipschorn speakers is $1400.00 On a scale of 1-10 I would say the Klipschorns are about an 8...Asking price is $900 for the Cornwalls and the seller is the original owner and he states they are a 10. What say yee???? You al are much better educated then I on these fine speakers. As always your help is appreciated. Thanks
  3. Ok...I was just getting ready to purchase my Cornwall speakers...I was going to email a yes to the seller when I came across a set of Klipschorns. Being uneducated in these fine speakers and there is about $600 difference between the two...which way should I go??? What is a fair price for the Cornwall in EC? Same for the Klipschorn speakers? Will I be able to tell the difference between to two? I guess I was premature when I said I owned a set of Cornwalls as I was going to pull the trigger and say yes today...but now I see the Klipschorns for sale...What to do...What to do...?????? I'm getting a headache... I also don't want to pay to much... Again your help is appreciated.
  4. Thanks Chris... Sounds like your HT will be similiar to mine as far as speakers go. I like your idea of using the KT-LCR speaker for surround sound. I know enough about speakers to be dangerous? I want to be sure the center channel blends in with the Cornwall and The Heresy speakers. Thanks...
  5. I guess I'm showing my lack of knowledge...but we all have to start off some place. As mentioned earlier I will be using a set of Cornwalls as my mains...Vintage Heresy's as my surrounds...I need a center speaker. It was suggested I use another Heresy speaker...so...Will the vintage Heresey's match the fidelity of the Heresy II's should I decide to go with a newer Heresy?
  6. I am limited to centerspeaker space. I will have a 65" Rear Projection TV so the Cornwall's will be located on the sides of the TV...The rears will be the Heresy speakers...The center channel will have to be located above the TV so that will limit my options. If understand you all correctly the Heresy would be better match for the center speaker than the new center speakers from Klipsch?
  7. I am close to purchasing a Toshiba 65" for about $2400 whih has the HD Tuner built in. Without the HD tuner it's about $2000.I looked at LCD and DLP sets and I just could't pull the trigger for that much money. Instead I'm putting my money into the audio system. I saw an Open Box Sony 57" at Best Buy yesterday and it was $1500 No HD Tuner but you can buy these for about $200. Good Luck
  8. Ok... After reading lots of forums and reviews I have decided to build my new H.T. not with brand new speakers but with vintage Klipsch speakers. I have just purchased a set of Heresy speakers from the original owner and I am in process of purchasing a set of Corwall speakers also from the original owner. I thought the Klipsch's were a better bang for the buck and the all around music experience I would get from these would not be attainable unless I spent thousands more which I do not have...I guess newer doesn't always mean better. My question...Am I better off going with another Heresy speaker for the center speaker or purchasing a new center speaker from a Klipsch dealership. I want to be sure to match the sound quality from the speakers. My second question...A sub? I know not all subs are created equal so what in your opnions are the better quality sounding subs. I am more interested in sound quality then name brand. I do not plan on shattering the windows either...My hears would'nt take it. My A/V source will one of the three...NAD, Outlaw, or a high end Denon. I am still researching this area. I also have a Sansui 9090db that I will be using. Thanks for your response.
