Using a Pioneer VSX-D811S on the Quintet IIs, and no problems here. I would get a more substantial receiver if you plan on listening to DVD-A / SACD tho. At anything over -26dB on the volume control will cause the receiver to overload and shutdown due to Dynamic Range requirements in the audio at peak points.

They are shielded, but they really aren't meant for a monitor. Works fine for a TV tho. I have mine on a monitor, and I raised it up 3 inches using some paperback books. Now the monitor doesn't distort. You can always use a piece of steel/iron to add to the shielding.
If they weren't shielded, then the 3" wouldn't be enough.
