  1. I have learned that one the hard way and it was difficult for me to get used to in the beginning.
  2. Ahh...than you very much. WAF for me is high right now, but there is some remodeling that I have ignored for several months now and I think I need to be breaking out the saws again now that the speaker thing seems to be "done" for now.
  3. Hey Michael, That is correct, I sit at the back of the room...approx 30 feet from the wall that the Jubilles are at. So, they are 24 inches deep and my couch is I guess 2 1/2 feet, so I am probably about 25 feet or so from the front of the speaker. The back of the room opens up into the kitchen, dinning and formal living area, so the room is not closed in. Is this an unusual layout?
  4. Rick...sorry WAF? I don't get the lingo.
  5. Rob, I'll probably not open up the hatches on these until neccessity dictates. I am not as curious as some as to why they sound so good or the physics behind the technology. I just like listening to them.
  6. Edwin, I'm not really sure they the Jubilees are as room sensitive as the Khorns I once had but I don't believe they are nearly as sensitive as the La Scalas I have now. To be honest I have a preference for big soundstage rather than imaging (and I am not sure if I could even tell if a speaker was really all that good at imaging anyway) but I can definitely tell the difference with big soundstaging and broad presentation. I listen to a lot of rock and roll, but I am fairly well rounded in my tastes and enjoy light classical, folk and jazz and it all seems to sound real good on both pairs of speakers. I just happen to prefer the Jubilees mainly becuase of the woofer horn performance versus my La Scalas. I was going to stay away from electronics because it seems to be a point of contention...but what the heck. I am using a pair of BGW amplifiers (a 750G for the woofer horns and a 250E for the mids\highs) along with a DBX 234xl electronic xover. I have a Teac A7300 1/2 track with an outboard DBX NR unit, a Thorens TD 125 MKII table and NAD preamp and CD player.
  7. Rob, I have played around with various crossover points and seem to prefer 460 hz @ 24db\octave. At 460 hz and below the bass is much deeper and richer. I guesss I would describe it as very satisfying, the room is filled with deep rich bass that stands on its own without the aide of a subwoofer. The midrange is cleaner and more detailed (if you are standing back 20 feet or so). The midrange would not sound better at 5 or 10 feet and I would guess my room is the smallest one would want to have a pair of these in. The listening experience is less fatiguing (to my ears) than with my La Scalas. It seems the music has more life to it. I was a musician many years ago and could tell when we "got it right" by the goose bumps and the hairs standing up on my arms and the tears welling up in my eyes...with these I experience the same euphoria in my listening experience.
  8. Fini...that I do have. Only no way to post it unless the forum has been fixed??
  9. Hey IndyklipschFan...no hard feelings I hope. They sound really good to me but I really don't have any thing else to compare them too other than really good Klipsch products. I have la Scalas and have owned Khorns in the past but they are all incredible speakers.
  10. Michael, My room is a little over 20 wide by 30 deep. 30 ft just seemed comfortable to me, no real reason I guess. My wife and I are currently planning an addition that would be about 35 wide by 50 deep. I don't see this happening for a year or two though.
  11. I promise I will get some photos this weekend when we are jammin'. I really don't know where they are made. Trey will vouch for me if he is watching...the cosmetic thing is really not a big deal and I am sure this kind of thing does not happen very often and I am sure I over reacted a little.
  12. Micheal I am told (by Trey)the LF horn of the KPT Jubille\535 is based on the original design of PWK and Roy Delgado. This is pretty much the extent of my knowledge about the history of the product. I currently plan on using this only in a 2 channel stereo configuration. Right now I am using an electronic crossover from the woofer horn to the 402 MF driver where a stock passive unit handles the crossover for the MF and HF horns. With this set up I currently am not employing a delay algorithm.
  13. Parrot, The mids and HF horns are on an assembly that tilts. I have them at 3 degrees down and I am about 30 feet or so back and they sound pretty good with that set up. I have not tried anything other than flat and yes standing up did sound better with no down angle.
  14. Mark, I heard the the upload function is not working right now. My last Amp should arrive Wednessday and I'll have the all the permanent stuff done shortly after. I'll take pictures of the system cranking with all the meters and lights on.
  15. How true Silversport!
  16. Thanks Parrot, remember I offer only my opinion which may or may not reflect reality....but I can say in all honesty they are the best sounding speakers I have ever owned.
  17. I heard that Trey had verified me as a legitimate KPT Jubilee owner and I thank him for that. Now on to more serious issues...what do I think. I was very impressed with the sound. Previously I have had Khorns and most recently La Scalas. I believe that that the Jubilees compare favorably to the Khorns in body, clarity and detail. I think the Jubilees compare VERY favorably to the La Scalas. I have had a week or so to turn the dials and just sit back and listen. The only issue I have with these behind the screen units is the lack of attention to cosmetics in the LF horn. It's not awfull, but not as clean as I had hoped. So any of you folks out there interested in buying a set of these should try to make arrangements ahead of time to see if manufacturing will spend some extra time with the sanding block and spray gun. The horns and bracketry were cosmetically very good and I had no issues with them. Overall, I am very satisfied as the incredible sound outwieghs the minor cosmetic "blemishes" I found with my set. I just wish I had thought ahead to see if I could get a little more attention to the cosmetic stuff.
