Hi guys
Thanks in advance for your help.
Time for a receiver upgrade. HT and music use are 50/50. Room is 14' deep (12' listening distance) x ~30' wide. 10' ceiling. I currently have an 8 or 9 year old Sony receiver (STR-DE925) 5 x 110w.
Due to my odd media center arrangement, my speaker mains (L/R) are RB-35's coupled with an RC-7 center speaker. Also have an RSW-12 sub
My rears are two Polk RC80i's in ceiling and would like to add two more in-ceiling speakers to get 7.1. I am open to recommendations for in-ceiling speakers too.
Currently considering Denon 3808, 2809, Yamaha RX-V1800, 1900 or ? My bidget limit is ~$1500, but would like to spend less.
Thank you!!

I just picked up some RSX-5's from that seller,
What is the seller's ID?

Bang for the buck the SXRD wins easily. I have the 50" SXRD and am very pleased. My local electronics superstore (Fry's) is advertising the 60" SXRD for $3499!!!! Circuit City has the 50" SXRD for $2999 this week also.
As far as 1080p inputs, I am being told that the two Firewire input on the back of the SXRD will support 1080p.......
The Elite is a great looking set, and I would maybe pick that if cost was not an object. Just can't beat the SXRD for value though.
Have fun with whatever you get!!!

Correct. Klipsch doesn't allow internet sales of new products, so the dealer who do sell them, remove the tags becauseYCurious thing is, the speakers do not have the serial number tags on the back......
I assume they all have these tags from Klipsch, correct??
1) the warranty isn't valid
2) they don't want to be traced back
These speakers usually are purchased from Klipsch by an authorized retailer (for local or export sales), who could loose his right to sell Klipsch if they find out he is selling online.
ROb
So I should not worry about the legitimacy of these then?

Yes I have. Bought some RB-35's with other stuff on the way. Curious thing is, the speakers do not have the serial number tags on the back......
I assume they all have these tags from Klipsch, correct??
Thanks

Polk RC80i in ceiling. They will live there for a bit. Any suggestions on a good replacement? They must be an in-ceiling speaker. My current cut-out hole is ~9.3".

Took the plunge. I have an RSW-12 and an RC-7 en-route to mate with my RB-35's. Looking forward to them. I will report my results.
Thanks

Thanks for the feedback guys. Anyone else with "hands on" experience with this combo? Any comments are appreciated!

Newbie questions here. HT and music use are 50/50. Room is 14' deep (12' listening distance) x ~30' wide. 10' ceiling. 5 year old Sony receiver (STR-DE925) 5 x 110w. Nothing special, but gets it done for now. Receiver will be in place until funds can accomodate an upgrade.
Due to my odd media center arrangement, the largest speaker mains (L/R) I can fit are RB-35's. Just picked up two. Will be getting an RSW-10 or 12 within the week. I was set on an RC-35 main, but have been reading in this forum spotty opinions on the RC-35....
The questions are:
1. Is there any truth to the RC-35 being muddy and un-inspiring? Obviously the cost and size would offer me a nice advantage over the RC-7.
2. If I mate the RC-7 to the RB-35's, will that be a mistake? Will the HT experience be disappointing due to a superior / mismatched center?
Thanks for all of your valuable input, experience and opinions!

Hi
Looking for proper in-ceiling surrounds to match an RC-7 and two RB-35's (used as mains).
Any suggestions?
Thank you again!
