  1. hello fellows,

For the past few months that i ve been on this forum and heard so so so many good thing about Bob crite x-over.Everytime i talked to another klipsch member and they always speak highly of BoB..today i sold my klipsch la scala with bob x-over, and I told the buyer how great his x-over sound Vs the original one. then the buyer ask me..who is BoB Crite??...Itold him i dont have a clue, but he sound like a genius according to all the klipsch people ,and his work sure show it..here is the weird question...I am curious what Bob look like,so i am wondering if the picture in BoB profile..is that the real picture of BoB ,or just somebody else....NO..I am not a stalker..just curious...LOL

  2. paul,

I have the klipsch la scala.the avantgarde horn sound different from the klipsch and have no problem with the bass due to it powered sub.My la scala sound great ,but whenever I am using my SET amplifier, the tweeter and mid just over power the sub..I notice that you are in the houston area.I am in tomball area and would love to invite you to come over and do a comparision between the two.

  3. I am very interested to see all of the response for this thread.I am a total all tube SET kind of a guy.currently I am using 300B amp and also 2A3 SET for my avantgarde horn and i believe it's a match made in heaven.I got into klipsch a few months back and thought these SET would be a perfect match for the high efficiency klipsch.boy,I was wrong.to my ear,it just sound terrible.I dont know what it is,but there just no bottom end at all,and NO.I dont listen to rap and I usually i listen to my music at lower volume level.I called a buddy of mine who is a long time music teacher for rice university and ask for advice. He told me that klipsch sound best with high-power SS amplifier.being an electrical engineer most of my life,I thought the guy was crazy to recomend a high power amp into an 104db efficiency horn.to make a long story short.I bought a high SS mcintosh to match with my klipsch ,and to my ear.it is the best combo that I ve experienced with klipsch,so I am keeping me SET for my uno horn and my 200W SS for my klipsch.

  4. Joe,

I played around with a few high $$ tonearms on my champion 2 and to be honest. The difference is so subtle that i cant even hear the different..The biggest improvement on my TT is when I upgrade my benz to a shelter 501 cartridge.it is almost like changing speaker..from my denon 103 to the benz glider.hmmm(not worth mentioning)..hope this help

  5. Hi Gang,

as you can see that I a fairly new to klipsch and hopefully this is not a stupid question.I am planning to have a cabinet maker build an exact copy of the LS cabinet in a nicer wood.eventhough all the drivers and x-over are still original klipsch..would this still consisder a klipsch or klipsch clone? and does it do anything to the value?..is it better to fix/venneer the original cabinet or build a complete different one..thanks
