  1. I went from 52s to 62s, they are much larger and do yield some benefits, but I would first recommend 1 of 2 things, add external amps if you dont have them already, and then look at adding bookshelves to go to 7.1 prior to doing a simple 52 to 62 upgrade, I think these 2 options would yield better results

I am using onkyo 5008 and I am not sure if it is necessary to add extra power amp for high efficiency Klipsch? Is 5008 not powerful enough?

I might not have enough space for surround back because my sofa is against the wall.

The distance from RS-52 to my listen position is ~10 feet.I am thinking about the upgrade to KS-525 or try to put RS-62 in my small closet.

I am guessing the advantage of THX series is at high sound pressure level, >100dB?

  2. I am using Onkyo 5008 to drive my RF-63 and RC-64. The sound is amazing no matter in music or movies.

The hiss noice might from player or due to unclear power, not proper grounding, etc. You can try to remove the RCA/HDMI cables from your receiver.

This can help you to find the affecting factor.

  3. Thank you guys.

The reason for me to replace my RS-52 is becasue I hope to listen a bigger sound stage to match with RF-63 and RC64.

In the beginning, I think of RS-62 first but the size is too big for my cabinet. This is why I take KS-525 into consideration.

The price of KS-525 is higher than RS-52 and RS-62(or equal), so I guess KS-525 is better than RS-52.

  4. I have a 5.1 system, RF-63, RC-64 and RS-52 and would like to upgrade my surround speakers.

For now, there are 2 options for me, RS-62 and KS-525 .

From the spec, RS-62 is definitely better than KS-525, even RS-52 is better than KS-525.

My quesiton is that is KS-525 better than RS-62? KS-525 meets THX specification means better than RS-62?

    Thanks.

  5. I own RF-63 RC-64 RS-52 and YAMAHA RX-V1900

My friend has Ultra2 system and runs with Integra 9.8 & Theta 5ch amp.

I prefer my RF-63 system. RF-63 is good in music and nice in movie for me.

Ultra2 system can generate a powerful movie theater and RF-63 can deliver very tiny sound.

I have no idea about the difference between RF-63 and RF-83 except the bass.

But RF-63 is a little too big for me..

  6. Thanks all! Your suggestion are very precious to me because there are few klipsch owner in my place.

Maybe I must try some other adjustment to increase the middle and bass range to make YAMAHA perfect.

RF-63 is a nice speaker and I don't know if RF-83 is better.

If I don't care the bass, power and only focus on middle ,high frequency, sound quality, is RF-83 better?

  7. Now I have Yamaha 1800 with RF-63 RC-64 and RS-52. I have a chance to get a onkyo 805. I don't know if this change is good. Is onkyo 805 better than Yamaha 1800 in both movie and 2ch music? Is Onkyo powerful? I still keep finding receiver to make perfect match with my Klipsch.Thanks.
  8. I have RF-63 now. My space is not big. I am thinking that if the room is small, RF-83 is still better than RF63?

My concern is the sound quality , mid, high frequency. For me, the bass of RF-63 is more than enough.

So are RF-63 and RF-83 the same excepting the bass? Thanks.

  9. 83, 63 and 64 are made in usa.

klipschorn, la scala II, cornwall III, heresy III are made in usa.

there are others too, like high model subs etc.

I don't see any "made in USA" on RF-63 package box only see simplied Chinese words.

I have seen the "made in USA" on Heresy package box.

So I question the place of the production of RF-63 ,I don't see the "made in USA" behind the speakers.

Any Klipsch employee can confirm that ??

  10. Recently I want to replace my RC-62 with RC-64,
but I don't know if the RC-64 is better than RC-62 in
high frequency???The frequency reponse of RC-64 is 62Hz-21kHz and the frequency response of RC-62 is 57Hz-23kHz.Dynamic and power are not my most concern in this case,I want to hear more details, better real feelings. My main is RF-62 and my surround is RS-25.Thanks.

  11. Hello,

To help you out a little more can you answer a question. How are the surround speakers placed, on the side or behind? I only ask cause if you have them on the side then I would sitck with the RS. If you have them behind you then stick with the RB.

My surround speakers are placed on the side cause I always sit against the wall. When using RB-61 for surround,I place them in the corner with an angle toe-in.When using RS-25s,I just place them on the side.I never place RS-25 behind but I often watch this in this forum. Thanks for your reply.
  12. I have got my new main speakers,RF-62 for birthday gift.

    My $ony STR-DB795 droved RB-61 a little bad ,

but,now is driving RF-62 well disregarding the bass.

An amp drives bookshelf speaker bad can drives floorstand speakers well?

Surprisingly, the RF-62's music performance is better than RB-61.

Now I hear more smooth , vivid ,clear ,powerful sound and more details.

Today I compared RB-61 with RS-25 for surround.

RB-61 performs powerful clear and RS-25 preforms wide , better coverage.

RS-25 has 2 smaller horns, and RB-61 has one bigger horn.

RS-25 only goes down to 79Hz while RB-61 to 43Hz...

    My room is small(4m x 3.7m) so I won't set 7.1 .

Actually,I want to buy RC-62 replacing RC-52 for the better match for RF-62.

Does my RS-25 go well with RF-62s and RC-62 ?Is RS-25 too small???

Thanks for your advice,I love my RF-62 very much.

  13. I wonder know which speaker should I keep,RB-61s or RS-25s ,for surround???My percentage of music is 70% and movie is 30%.For me ,Bookshelf or floorstanding is not a problem,I just want to know which can play a nice music.

I am basing this on your statement that you listen to music 70% of the time.

If you listen to music in a 5.1 format 70% of the time, you may want to keep the RB61 for surrounds. If you listen to music in 2 channel only, than I would use the RS-25. I think it depends on which mode you listen to your music in. Personally for me I am probably 50/50 music, movies. I like the music from bookshelves rather than from the WDST (RS) speakers. That is why I utilize RB's for my surrounds. YMMV.

Thanks for your advice.I will keep trying.
  14. Hi , I have RB-61s for front , RC-52 for center , and RS-25s for surround.I will buy RF-62s or RB-81s for front, replace RB-61s.So I have to sell RB-61s or RS-25.I wonder know which speaker should I keep,RB-61s or RS-25s ,for surround???My percentage of music is 70% and movie is 30%.Is the RF-62's music performance better than RB-81's ???For me ,Bookshelf or floorstanding is not a problem,I just want to know which can play a nice music.I like classic and OST.My room is 12ft x 14ft.Thanks.
