I'm already on my second pre-amp. And I have a feeling that I'll soon be sending it in for the 3rd one. And it's all because they all start to make staic noises, and weird noises after about 3 months!
And I'm really sick and tired of paying for the shipping back to Kilpsch for a new preamp! It's not my fault that it needs service. Why should I pay for the shipping?
And what if my waranty expires? Am I stuck with the last pre-amp? And what if it goes bad again? And I'm not even abusing the speakers. I just let it sit there, I dont even touch the volume knob. I use the window slide bar all the time, and it's kinda annoying too. I'm doing all I can so the pre-amp can live longer. But I just dont think I like this pattern of the pre-amp going bad after a 3 - 4 months.
Any one fear that their pre-amp might go bad right after its waranty expires? I am.

I'm not sure why Klipsch's mini-plugs do this, but with other speakers, I have never experienced the short-circuit type of problem with the Pros.

I believe an alternative to the mini-plug is a MUST! Let it be USB or digital out, it doesn't matter.
The ProMedias are too good to be brought down by the less-than-acceptable performance of the mini-plugs.
My Pros performs beautifully most of the time. But when the mini-plugs get touched or turned just slightly, the sound from that perticular speaker would die down.
I just think that the pros are SO close to perfection. So close, it's these minor things that is holding the pros back. It's just a shame when you spend so much effert to product such a fine product, but was brought down quality-wise by some 2-cent parts.

We're talking about the new Kilpsch ProMedia with the updated pre-amp right?
It's VERY cool that they're out. I live in the S. California (Orange County) area, when can I expect to see them on Best Buy's (or CompUSA's) selves?
