Never have I heard AC/DC's "Sin City" sound as powerful as it did last night playing through my Forte II's. I'm still having trouble regaining my sanity after it.
I'll be 50 next year - maybe I should go "Easy Listening". []

My girlfriend listens with me a lot and notices the upgrades I do. Never a complaint. She's spoiled though.

I think I'm getting close on my Forte II positioning. []

Congrats!
Great looking setup.[Y]
Thanks fellow Hoosier.
I put them in the corners last night. Definitely better bass and a little mellower top end. Sounded real nice, but that could have been the Knob Creek working. []
This is fun.

Congrats! Nice looking speakers. They look a lot like my pair. You will love them. Looks like the credit card trick woked to get the grills off[]
Enjoy
Yes it did; and thanks again.

Congratulations!!!! So...do you love them?????
Yes I do. I need to experiment with positioning a little bit, but I'm very happy so far. They rock.

The magnets are strong and the fit is really tight. I typically use a credit card to slip between the back of the grill and the edge. The CC is flexible and won't scratch the wood. Go slow...once you get one part to pop up you are all set.
Good Luck!
Hey, where are the pix???
Hey rplace, thanks a lot. My GF is going to Wally World and I'm having her pick me up some batteries for my camera. I'll post pics sometime this weekend probably. These are pristine.
Thanks again.

I just got them yesterday and don't want to break anything.
Thanks.

I've had mine for about 4 years now and I love it.

Thanks all. I'm picking them up tomorrow. They're supposedly in pristine condition. I'll let everyone know how I like them and post pics.
And thanks for the forum welcome.

Has anyone heard this combo? I found some Forte II's fairly local. I have the Stingray pushing some 1962 Magnavox 2 way horns and love the sound. Surely the Forte's would sound even better. I listen to mostly rock and older style country. What do you all think?
Thanks.

I could not sell to lutesk only because it required shipping to Indianna. If anyone here was driving that way I would gladly sell to him.
Yeah, anyone coming this way, bring em' to Indy for me and I'll pay you for your efforts. []

I'm interested. I sent you an email. Thanks.

dkalsi, did you get my email?
Thanks.

They're gone. I hope someone here got them. I'd have jumped on them, but I'm in Indiana.

It is hard to enjoy Hard Rock Metal on big horns.
What?

The Forte' had a pleated surround like the one on the right. The gray looking one is not factory. It's either a foam surround or a "rubber" surround that's cot some 'crud' on the surface. That's not the problem, but the very different surround design is a problem if you expect original performance.
Thanks Bob, and everyone else. I don't think I'll bid.
Dang, Forte's and Chorus don't seem to come up very often in Indiana. I'll keep looking.

I did. He said he bought them new and that's the way they came. He said the serial numbers aren't close and may have been mfgd. at different times.

Hi all...
I've got a pair of Forte II's up for sale, the time has come to upgrade...I'm the 2nd owner, these are from 1992 and are in oiled oak in excellent condition. Cosmetically and acoustically beautiful speakers...I have the original packing, these will be boxed well for shipment. Pictures are in this thread:
I sent you an email yesterday but haven't gotten a response.
