  1. Does the Heresy II always say Heresy II on the back or is it more complicated at times?
  2. That seems like a pretty good deal. Maybe he should go for it. I just blew my amp budget on a new kit otherwise I might!
  3. If you can solder a Dynaco offers a lot of bang for the buck. I have one and have loved tinkering with it. There is a dedicated Dynaco website on audioasylum where you can explore options. With some work you can have an incrdible amplifier for around $1K all in. 25 watts. I am a massive Bottlehead fan, so if you can solder but are not comfortable with a Dynaco and what it takes to revamp it, those kits are really easy. If SET isn't your bag, DIYhifi has some push pull kits for KT-88 which will give you a lot of power and good support on the forum. All of my suggestions are based on doing it yourself, but it really isn't that hard. Just some thoughts.
  4. Definitely could hear the Heresys and the room was large. It played to extremely high levels, and sounded great at the same time, on the Cornwalls, La Scalas and Klipschorns as well. Power isn't the issue to be sure. I actually have Bottlehead Paramount 300B monoblocks on the way so I will be able to do closer to 9 watts.
  5. It is interesting that you would say that. Mark, whom I was listening with, thought that the SET amp had the best synergy with the La Scalas from his own listening. I am not new to audio but am new to Klipsch. I thought it sounded good with all of them but the more experienced hand heard the synergy with the La Scalas immidiately. Good post and thanks. Paul
  6. I just had my first experience with Klipsch today, but I thought my two watt Bottlehead amp going into the Lascallas was marvelous. I am going to measure my room to see if I can get a pair to fit. If not, on to the Heresys. But I think the important thing is to audition before you buy and I also think, given the incredible effeciency of your speakers you should give SET a chance and see what you think before you buy. Just the musing of a newbie, take it for what it is worth.
  7. Thanks. I am still figuring out how to work the site. I have been checking my email but have not received anything so I haven't been able to see the dates.
  8. Chattanooga is a bit of a hoof. If I were in Atlanta that would be no problem but the extra 100 miles from Columbus to Atlanta makes it a bit far even though I would love to hear the JBL's (never having heard a pair). But thanks! Paul
  9. I looked for your email but haven't seen it. I sent two private emails to you (one with my phone number) but of course can't be sure you got them. I am heading to Atlanta on Saturday and can pop over to Athens if you are available. If not, we can find another day for it. Let me know. Also, if you like, I can bring a Bottlehead SET amp.
  10. **Hot Damn. 4 Georgia boys in one thread.** Get enough of us, we could have a party.
  11. I will keep the thread bookmarked, if I can get over to Macon I will.
  12. I could run over to Athens if you are available.
  13. I am about 100 miles south of Atlanta. But I end up going to Atlanta periodically and could make the trek to Athens. You have a bunch of speakers I would love to hear.
  14. I was hoping to hear a pair of Heresies or Cornwalls but have been unable to find anyone with a pair, or a store for that matter. If anyone near Columbus or Atlanta has a pair that they wouldn't mind a stranger showing up to listen to, let me know. Thanks. Paul
