  1. Ahhh... so the card has separate RCA outs for the sub and center... I'm pretty sure it has to do with the RCA to minijack adapter you are using. You need to make sure it is a RCA to STEREO minijack adapter, one that wil split the RCA into 2 channels. I think you might be using rca to mono minijack adapter - that would give you only one channel.

  2. I don't know much about the gametheater, but if it anything like the sb 5.1 or AE the center output is the same as the sub out... the reason you only get center out of one speaker is that one side of the stereo output (left in your case) is the center, the right is the sub. What you need to do is get a stereo to 2x mono splitter which will separate the center(left) signal, then plug your 2.1 into that.

  3. make sure 'digital output only' is not checked in the surround mixer. You can also find it in the windows volume controls, in 'advanced' under the main volume.

The digital out port is also the rear speaker (black) port.

  4. When I used windows 98 and ME I had all windows volumes at 100%, and could still max the pros with most songs and movies without getting distortion. After I went to win2k I keep main vol at about 70%, and anything over 80% on the pros volume is too loud. I have a sblive original.

  5. Don't think that will help...

It is really noticeable when playing the game Starlancer, while you're walking around in the halls or sitting in your cabin there is a lot of port noise coming from the sub.

  6. The problem is your dxr2 does not do 4 speaker downmixing. It can only do 5.1 when connected to an external decoder. So to get 4 channel surround sound you need to either get an external dd decoder such as the midiland ads2000, or get rid of the dxr2 altogether and use a software dvd decoder, if your machine is fast enough.

I don't know if the new 5.1 soundblasters would be able to help you - they do dd decoding to 4 speakers, but I don't know it they work with the dxr2.

  7. Just listened to the woofer cooker track and almost all the continuous low bass produces quite a bit of port noise. The sub moves a LOT of air, I can feel it about 10 feet from the sub, but it just sounds like gurgling...

Same thing happens at the very end of the track when the frequency goes down - I guess there is a certain frequence at (or below) which all I get is a lot of air movement and port noise.

  8. Search the forums for a DIN cable extension, then buy one. You will have to solder it to your cp1 though, or cut your damaged cable and splice it in.
