  1. quote:

I personally, and probably a lot of other people, are tired of hearing about your damn paradigms. Go hang out on a paradigm board or something.

    Amen to that.

I couldnt agree more with you. In fact its kinda of funny to see how he responded by flamming you and calling you lame several times. Honestly "paradigm" you are far too obsessed with you cinema series. I'm not saying thats bad. but you come onto the klipsch forums and start RAmming your opinions down everyones throats, why dont you let people decide for themselves ok? And ive heard speakers costing less that paradigms flagship that cost less. Also the pro 4.1s are $389 here in Canada. that would put the 5.1s at around $499 or something like that, not 650 dollars... so for the price the 5.1s are likely sound great.

  2. paradigm, open your eyes, there are speakers out there that will put you cinema series to shame. you might say " well they cost way more! " well then i can say to you this: for $250 go find something better than the klipsch, including amp, sub , and 4 sats. good try... but you cant find anything.. so no point in compareing your "over priced" paradigms to the pros, and im not talking second hand stuff with no warranty.

Ive heard the the cinema series and they are NOTHING to rave about, epecially for that price.

So if your the messiah and are here to save the world and tell everyone why YOU think paradigm is superior to klipsch then im just gonna ignore you, cause all you are doing is basing your opinions off of a HT magazine... " Oh they said it was better... so im going to have to think the same way" only way is to do some AB tests for yourself, everyones got different preferences. if you wanna look for a company to bash, why dont you go over to the Bose forums or something.... they at least have a reason to get flamed for, not klipsch.

  3. I would HIGHLY not recommend you put your speakers in a car, Think about it, without proper mounting they would be bouncing all over the place and you would damage them very easily. Plus these are multimedia speakers not CAr speakers i dont think it would sound very good in a car either( they are meant for home use) if you want car audio go get an amp a cheap 12" in a ported box, and that would probably work a lot better than trying that.

  5. quote:

The sub seems more slow and loud than powerful and punchy. I dont know if im explaining this well. Almost seems kinda weak.

Try placeing it somewhere else, best thing to do is:

    - place your sub where you normaly sit with the port facing towards a corner or a wall.

    - crawl around your room and find where the bass sounds strongest, punchiest , clearest , also deepest.

-unplug the sub or move it to it sounded best to you.

I find this is the easiest way to get GOOD results. You would be really suprized at how much of a difference it makes to tilt the sub X degrees in any direction, or move it a foot left, or back etc... Generally it will sound best when it is closest to a wall or corner on the floor.

    Good luck and happy listening.

  6. The THX song is not stressful, if you want a stressful song search for any SPL competition bass songs...

one example: boston acoustics - woofer cooker

another: Techmaster P.E.B - Ultimate Subwoofer Test

those are guaranteed to give you port noise at even lower volumes... then again i wonder how other computer speakers would handle that! lol

  7. port facing the wall should be the loudest.... a couple of people suggested in other threads to place the sub where you sit normally then *crawl* around the room and find where the bass is STRONGEST.. then place your sub there. This works great... just dont let your family catch you crawling around your livingroom floor... lol.

  8. yah, i dont mean any harm to the owners of that system, i was regarding to the one of the reviews where the guy says

    quote:

" Look at them, Just look at them, there bloody brilliant. "

you can't really tell how they sound by looking at them, i just found that sorta funny i guess.

  9. wow, im learning a lot. thanks guys!

On another note, i happened to have my promedias at school during a spare and we set them up in the caf/ Auditorium, They filled the whole place with Nice audio, i was surprised it could fill such a large room with that much sound. I definatly think the numbers dont lie, ive also heard some of my friends so called "500 Watt RMS" loudspeakers, and the volume they reach is very low compared to the pros without distorting, but its true that watts rms dont mean its going to sound louder, just means it can take a lot of juice. hehe
