All,
I have a Klipsch Promedia 4.1 THX system that I love but my current computer's integrated sound card (Realtek HD) doesn't support it. Any recommendations for an add-in sound card for a Win7, 64-bit machine that will fully support the 4.1, both with drivers and with connections?
Thanks!

Well gang,
A partial fix, anyway. Just mounted the CP-1 control pod on the Klipsch's. At least I can "disengage" the speakers prior to powering down the 'puter. Not ideal...but closer. ;-)

I can appreciate that you don't have the problem with your particular setup, but I didn't have any loud pop on shutdown with the Yamaha speaker system I formerly had connected to the Creative SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 card. (Yes, they were powered speakers connected to the same line output as the Klipsch speakers.) Therefore, I can only assume that it is the combination of the Klipsch AND Creative systems causing this rather annoying 'feature'.
Thanks for the reply,

Okay, okay..I get the point. A design flaw..on both Klipsch's and Creative's part. Shouldn't have to shut down the volume or unplug/power down the speakers before shutting down the computer..but such is life in the fast lane. Thanks for the disconcerting information ;-)

Is it normal for the ProMedia v.2-400 system to issue a loud pop when powering down the computer? The ProMedia setup is on a separate circuit and remains powered when shutting off the computer. The soundcard used is a Creative SoundBlaster Live 5.1 with the latest drivers installed. Help!!
Best sound card for Promedia 4.1 THX on WIN7-64 bit system?
