  1. Hi Vic, I ended up going with a Integra DHC-40.2 Pre amp . I just got it yesterday and im loving it !!! Matches excellent with my Klipsch setup it sounds amazing . Heres some pics
  2. Congrats and please keep us updated with its performance .
  3. Thanks for taking the time to give me your perspective and experience . I've ownen a Denon before my Pio elite and thought it was not as bright but that was just my observation . I will be going out this weekend and auditioning some AVRs . I think im leaning towards a Marantz SR6005 or SR7005 and i've heard some good things about the Anthem also .
  4. I dont own a ps3 so im sorry I cant be much help but I would be willing to bet its your ps3 setup menu since everything else plays fine . Try going back in the menu of your ps3 and see if you accidently changed something . Also you might want start a thread if you cant figure it out so more folks will see it that can help you out . Let me know if you figure it out .
  5. Most of the owners like them, they do run hot so I'd make sure were your going to have it will have proper ventilation . The 808 seems to have alot of bang for the buck. I've never really heard one but read that there probably in the middle of the scale of bright and warm. Brighter then the Denon but I think we'd be ok matching them with Klipsch "just a hunch " ; ) One thing i've learned over the years Mike is that just about every peice of gear you can find your going to see that folks are going to post problems they've experienced on Forums so you have to weigh everything out and realise that out of 1000's of products sold its a very small percent that will have problems but it seems like more when your reading about them on forums with just a few folks . Again imo I think Onkyo is a good AVR and the 808 has alot of bang for the buck . Myself I keep getting drawn to the Denon 3311ci for some reason .
  6. Your welcome Mike and let me know what you choose and how it works out for you .
  7. Hi Mike its for sure the Pioneer because I hooked my 20 year old flagship Yamaha just for kicks and it was way less bright . I would not run a Pioneer avr with Klipsch imo . I would go Denon 3311ci and thats one im looking at also .
  8. Still undecided but I should have it narrowed down by next weekend I hope . Still doing some more research .
  9. Thanks Bob for the input, im actualy considering a Anthem mrx300 and a Intrega 40.2 . Theres a dealer in my area were I can demo them and I've heard some great things about them also .
  10. Vic who has it on sale for 1599 ? The cheepest i've found is 1799 . Although its still almost 500 dollars over my budget I might be willing to stretch a little like I did for my 7's . Im also considering a Anthem MRX there new lineup looks pretty sweet and theres a dealer near my house were I can demo one but dont know if they carry Klipsch or not to match it with .
  11. Why not try the UMC-1? Its one I was considering but Emo is coming out with another model and was going to wait but I sold my Elite avr so im not going to wait .
  12. The Elite has great power/specs but power isnt a concern because im running seperate amps so my main concern is sound quality . Just for kicks I hooked up a old Yamaha avr I have it was a flagship model 15 years ago lol but I liked the sound very clean and not as bright . Pioneer AVRs have a tendency to be on the brighter side and I dont think its a good match for Klipsch imo even though it did sound good I think theres room for improvement by changing to a AVR thats not as bright . So im looking into the Marantz or Denon or possibly Onkyo but not sure were Onkyo falls on the scale of brightness if you will . Im looking to spend no more then 1000 to 1200 dollars . Not sure I could justify spending 1800 to 2000 on the flagship Onkyo TX-sr5008 . Im leaning towards a Denon 4310ci or 3311ci , Marantz sr6005 or sr5005. Possibly a Onkyo 808 .
  13. Hey Vic how do you like your Onkyo AVR has it been good to you. I've been considering one .
  14. I use photobucket Vic but at the top of the reply box theres a insert/edit image option just click on the picture that looks like a tree, again its at the top of the reply box and you should be able to download pics from your computer
  15. I did get my 64II and its a great center channel , vocals are crystal clear . Im thinking will be ok for a while and should be able to get parts years down the road .
