  2. HI, AS DISCUSSED BRIEFLY IN MY LIST OF 88 ITEMS, I HAVE HAD A CHANCE TO TURN UP THE FISHER MODEL 400 FM RECEIVER...TURNED IT UP WITH A VARIAC, AND IT SOUNDS GREAT! BOTH CHANNELS WORK FINE, AS WELL AS THE FM RECEIVER...NEAT SIGNAL INDICATOR....ALL CONTROLS WORK, ALL KNOBS ARE INCLUDED....TRIED IT OUT WITH A CASSETTE DECK TO CHECK TAPE MONITOR..WORKS FINE ALSO. ONLY ISSUE I COULD SEE IS THAT THE KNOBS SEEM TO BE MISSING A LITTLE ROUND STICKY INDICATOR THAT WAS GLUED TO THE TOP OF EACH KNOB....SEE PICS. SPEAKING OF PICS, I HAVE INCLUDED QUITE A FEW. VERY FEW SCRATCHES ON THE UNIT...WOODEN BOX IS ALOS VERY NICE. I AM LOOKING FOR $450.00 FOR THE UNIT. BUYER PAYS SHIPPING, OR FREE PICKUP IN NJ. I WILL OFFER A 14 DAY MONEY BACK RETURN POLICY...BUYER PAYS FOR RETURN SHIPPING, AND IF UNIT IS IN SAME STATE AS IT WAS WHEN I SHIPPED IT, I'LL GIVE YOU BACK YOUR MONEY. MY EMAIL IS SIMITAVI@HOTMAIL.COM I HAVE MORE PICS IF YOU WANT TO SEE THEM...FILE GOT TO BIG. THANKS, BILL
  3. Hi, I have a Pioneer SX-850 for Sale. I have some great news....and a little bad. The great news: Unit powered up, and sounded great. I check both sets of A and B speaker outputs. I also hooked up a tape deck and check both tape monitors....all just fine. Hooked up an FM antenna....received signals fine on my basement...AM OK also. Checked all the other switches, and all seemed to perform, Little Bad: The power on switch works, but feels tight. And, the Base Control is sheared off.....happened during transport. I have the knob...it is fine...but the stem of the Bass Control "switch" is sheared.....I was able to turn the switch with long nose pliers, to make sure that it functioned correctly, which it did. The offer: I just sold an SX-1250 on Ebay for $690.00..so I've had good luck selling these...it was a beast to ship...something like 72 lbs once I packed it up real nice. I will sell this unit for $425.00, and you pay for shipping to wherever you live, or you can pick it up at my home in NJ. I do not think the unit has any other issues other than the two I mentioned. However, I want to be very fair, and I want you to feel that you got a good deal. Therefore, I will offer you a 14 day return, at your cost, and I will return all your money...just so the unit is in the same condition as it was when I sent it out. Not sure if this is the offer process used on this site....if I doing something wrong, let me know.. Thoughts?---pics attached Bill Attached Thumbnails
  4. Randy, To be honest, I throw amplifiers on the bench to see if, in general terms, if the unit works. I'll hook up speakers, tape decks, antennas, to make sure the unit works as expected. I do not have the experience to judge the cost on bringing the unit up to full specs. As an FYI, for other that amps, such as signal generators, I will certainly throw my scope on it and check for proper signal freqs and amplitudes for that sort of equipment...hope this helps.. Bill
  5. Oh my.....sorry Jim. It was a really busy day.....I'm active in my church, a Deacon, and Sundays can get busy. And, I had a birthday celebration to attend to for my wife's aunt...90 today. I'm doing my best at this...came home around an hour ago, and tested out the Pioneer SX-850 for someone on this forum...just got done with the reply, when I saw your post.....still getting used to navigating around here. No problem if you are not interested in my equipment....but do not judge me too harshly....after all, you do not know me at all... Bill

  7. Hi, I do not want to be annoying, and post things that "you" may not be interested in....so I thought I would just send out a few lists of things that I brought home from the "Hanke Treasure Trove" and share them here... I have already listed a few of these on Ebay, but not many at all; mostly because I have not bench tested them yet. However, If anyone is interested in these, let me know and I'll but them first in line for me to bench test. Well, thanks again for your time... 8. Hi, Here is the other half of the Scott equipment from the Hanke Treasure Trove. I do not have an exciting story on the Scott Type 299---well, no story yet...it was missing a tube, a 7189 (there are four total in the unit)..I assume they are for balanced output for each channel..plus there is a blown 6BL8. Because of the missing tubes, I have decided NOT to power up the unit. I believe this is a series "A" unit, since it has balance pots for each channel. However, I'll leave to you experts to steer me the right way on that... If you would like additional pics, just ask. I am again asking for $400 or b/o on the unit. Buyer pays for shipping, or local pickup in NJ...Thanks
  9. Hi Again, Another unit out of the "Hanke Treasure Trove" is a Scott Type 340 Amplifier. Here is the story on the Scott Type 340 Amp/Tuner. All tubes accounted for. Hooked the unit up to 8 ohm speakers and FM antenna..and....it WORKED!....all functions seem to work just fine. (Of course, with both Scott units, they do not seem to have a top cover...oh well..) Then came the problems. I went over to grab a tape deck to check the tape monitor on the amp...went to plug in some RCA jacks....found that the ones I had handy where too big...the outside diameter that is...RCA jacks mounted so close to each other on the amp. Went to grab a different pair of cables....and the SIZZLING and SMOKE started! Unplugged the unit..some thick smoke bellowing out of the bottom. Opened the bottom...and yes, you've already guessed it...a leaky cap. Nothing hurt at all...actually, the music was still playing up until I pulled the plug out. The cap is identified in the pics with an X on it. It is a dual Cap, info: Mallory Type FB 30 mfd 500v 30 mfd 500v CEG2X30/500 85 DEGREES C 2356235X I am looking $400 or b/o. Buyer pays shipping, or local pickup in NJ is fine. Thoughts? BTW, I'll have to post an addendum for the other pics...thanks..
  10. Hi, Here are some additional pics of the unit's under belly... Bill
  11. Hi....I'm very new to this forum. I was advised to join from a friend of my cousin, who recently died. I am helping the executer of the estate (who is my brother-in-law) find homes for electrical equipment. My cousin, Paul, was quite a collector. He would pick up equipment everywhere, and fix it for an annual garage sale at his church. I have found quite a few finds--including this amp. Here is what I can tell you about it: It had one broken amplifier tube out of the 4--therefore, I have not tried to turn it on. It had a piece of electrical tape holding the fuse into the fuse holder--top was missing---I had one that fits and replaced the tape. I took some pics.....see below. If you would like others, I can provide. I have been selling several pieces of equipment on Ebay..mostly heathkit test equipment, old apple/TRS computers, etc. My username there is Simonie28. I have many other pieces, including two nice Scott amps...I'll post asap. I know this McIntosh is quite an item for collectors. I'm asking $2000.00 or b/o. Shipping costs carried by the buyer, or you can pick up at my home in NJ. I'm hoping I did not break any of your rules posting this item. Please feel free to advise. Thanks, Bill an addendum: I was asked to show some pics of the unit's belly...here are a few, and I'll add more to another post
