  1. Hanging over the edge by my fingertips, then along comes Mookie.......... Seller was surprised to hear they are 2000 model. Had to cancel my Sunday golf round, so this better be good! Thank you, good people here!
  2. Seller called. These are the serial numbers: BKMH17-00400001 BKMH17-00400002 Will be going to audition and pick up on Sunday if they are good.
  3. Wow, thank you GPBusa for your efforts in salvaging the label photo. Since the seller hasn't called me back with the serial numbers yet, this information is very helpful. Looking at the Klipsch ID chart, it does look like they are 2000 model. Gracias! MookieSTl : I greatly appreciate your joining up just to comment on this thread. Since I am now a 1 day veteran allow me to be the first to welcome you to the fold! Bryant0086 : Thanks for you thoughts on the touch up marker. The little chips I see in the photos don't look major to me and I have been known to clean up many things with scratch cover and markers. I remain curious about the condition around the bases of the cabinets. I don't see any deep gouges or anything in the photos. MookieSTl has pushed me over the edge as far as decision goes. I have now attempted to call the seller and left a message that I'm a go if the Belles check out. Yeah, a couple of hundred is not really worth haggling about considering the age and location of the Belles if they check out nice. That's it for now. Just have to wait and see.
  4. I agree with Wuv80 too, has a way with words doesn't he? I'll see if the seller indeed calls me with the serial numbers tomorrow, then clam up for a few days. He knows I'll show up with cash and no . I'll tell him my price and if he's interested then I will go see them. If it doesn't work out it doesn't work out. I have three nice systems as it is and if I get the Belles then I have to figure out a way to set up a bathroom system. Someday my wife is going to start asking questions.
  5. Maybe he doesn't know so much about his own Belles after all. Even I think the tags look much newer than early 80's. Bryant0086, thank you for your sharp eye. I finally saw the numbers you did but I had to jimmy with my monitor settings quite a bit to get past the glare. Maybe I'll call back and get the exact serial numbers. Are 2000 models valued any different than what he believes to be early 80s I wonder? Edit: I called and he is going to call me back in the morning with the serial numbers.
  6. Reached the seller. Talked to him for about 15 minutes. He said the Belles are in perfect working condition and is firm on the $2300. I don't know whether he really wants to sell them or not. He lectured me about how great "his" belles are and that since they are from the early 80s, they are of superior quality and have better parts than later models. I mentioned the input I received here on the board which he simply brushed off. He also owns some La Scalas and CWs and I had to hear all about them too. He worked hard to establish his superior knowledge of the Heritage line. Said he would rather keep the Belles than come down on the price at all. Doesn't look like this is going to become one of those great finds. He let it be known that I could only see them on the weekend. So, here I am kind of miffed at his attitude and looking at a rare opportunity to acquire a nice pair of Belles. runninshine: I like your guidance but I don't know if the 2K is going to do it. I gave him my name and phone number and asked him to call me if he is interested in working a deal. Told him I'd be thinking and maybe call him later in the week and that if he ended up keeping them it is ok with me.

  8. Ok, trying to call the dude. No answer but I have nothing but time. One of you wanted pictures so I will now attempt to post some of my modest but very good sounding 2 channel gear. Hope it works!
  9. Excellent responses from all, THANKS! Yeah I thought the price was a bit high myself so if I decide to make an offer it will be less than he's asking for sure. I feel I'm in a good position in that my current setup is like heaven on earth right now and I really don't expect earth shattering improvement with the Belles, mostly fuller more room filling sound. Khorns of course would be amazing, but they would be too large and I only have one good corner. Don't really want to build a corner unit or enclose the back of one. There was mention of the AB crossover maybe not being preferable. Can someone please elaborate on that, I know very little (nothing) about the nuances of the different crossover models. The stickers in the pictures look modern, it will be interesting to see what year they were made. I'm going to continue to study the replies and maybe give the guy a call tomorrow, and I will certainly audition them before any offer. All of your input is priceless, Thank You again!
  10. Hello from the mountains west of Denver! This my first post here but believe me I've been lurking for many many years and feel I know some of you well. Some great knowledge and some real characters as well! I recently decided to get back into 2 channel for the first time in 20 years. Here's what I did: Yaqin MC 13-s Integrated Tube Amp Pair of RB-81s on stands SVS SB-100 Sealed Sub Original Yaqin power tubes but rolled in EH 12au7s and EH 12ax7s. This system sounds impossibly good but then again I have a excellent room acoustically. Of course I said this is so good I will never change it, I know, I know! I made the mistake of checking out Craigslist and discovered this: http://denver.craigslist.org/ele/4932296466.html Looks like a decent pair of Belles 30 minutes away. I would greatly appreciate some insight from the experts about what these are with regard to approximate age, condition and of course the asking price. This listing has been active for at least a month and I am very tempted to enter into the Heritage realm. The wife will have to love them, no choice. I don't want to call until I have as much information as I can be armed with. I also run a 6.1 HT based on rf-82s rc-52 rs-52s SVS pc-2000 and a Definitive rear. I feel like I'm in very good hands here! Thank You!
