Newbie to this forum. I joined to ask this one question. Any suggestions on changing this design before I summit to the building department? The addition to my modest 900 square foot house is mostly to give me a better listening room. The addition is the area on the plans to the West, outside of the square box. The green/blue areas on the plan are a pair of klipschorns and a pair of cornwalls (none of them to scale) run through a Apt Holman as a center channel. Construction of the "speaker alcove" will be 2x6 walls w/ R21 insulation, 5/8" cdx ply to the interior covered w/ 5/8" drywall. The western most wall will be 8' high with a ceiling that slopes up to the East about 3 inches to the foot. My biggest concern is that I should make the alcove deeper, 6 or 8' as oppose to the drawn 4. Secondly, possibly tightening the 15' inside width? Any input will be greatly appreciated, if I am going to spend this kind of money on a hobby, it's time to whip this horse before I think about it. Thanks, John
